What to do when your host goes AWOL

Hi
I'm hoping you may have a way for me to contact my web host. Strange thing to say I know. You see our host has gone AWOL and so have our major money-making sites. For over 2 years we have had a great relationship with Kenneth Fox from Windy City Web Solutions. The service was so incredible we transferred all our sites to him and referred all our customers to him. In the last few months service has really dropped but we cut him some slack because we knew he has some illness in the family.
But 3 days ago one of his servers died. With it has gone all our major money-making sites.
Short term problem? We thought. Until no emails responded to, support desk not responding, skype ignored and telephone disconnected. Their other server with our other sites is functional though. I'm not sure if they are going out of business, stopped caring or if they will be back on board. Meanwhile we have the decision to make about recreating sites from backups - big database driven sites that is! I'd much rather get the sites back up again so I can do a server to server transfer to a new host.

So my question to you: do you know if anyone else has been affected by the problem with Windy City Web Solutions? Do you know any way to contact the host? I've tried:
email: no response
Help desk: no response
phone: disconnected
Skype to kennethfox: no response
twitter @kennethfox: no response
facebook / KennethFox: no response
DM through here: no response even though he was active here while our sites have been down?

I'd really appreciate any help you can give. Either a way to contact them or any info on what is happening with their business.
Cheers
Janet

That sounds like a fiasco that happened with a client of mine a few months ago and their web host. They just closed up shop - disappeared - and all of the sites with them.

Have you tried to do a WHOIS on the domain name that he owns and see if you can contact him by phone/email that way? Other than that, I wouldn't waste time getting your money making sites off to another host ASAP if you've exhausted all the other options.

Thanks for great suggestion. It came up with the same details I already had unfortunately. My techy is in the process of transferring everything at the moment but it is a HUGE job as they are big dynamic sites. Ah well. Maybe it's time to simplify?

What is their website URL? What kind of information are you trying to get? I may be able to help, but I would need more information.

      The site is www.windycitywebsolutions.com

I've tried every email, phone (disconnected), skype, twitter and facebook I have for them. I guess now I'm looking for someone with a personal connection or their home number or mobile / cell number.

      Thanks heaps
