Hubpages and duplicate content

In my limited experience, it seems like duplicate content doesn't matter anywhere except for hubpages. They're the only one ever to reject my content because it was posted elsewhere.

If it were just about any of the other sites or article directories I've been submitting to, I'd just scratch them off my list. But it appears that Google really likes hubpages for the keywords I'm using. It's important to me to try to maintain a high hubscore (without dedicating too much of my time, which I never have enough of).

I really hate rewriting my content. I'm just slow at it (and I haven't found a spinner I like). I'm wondering if anyone knows how often hubpages checks to see if my content is duplicated.

The article I posted with them that was rejected was already posted on at least a dozen other sites. I'd like to know if I post my article on hubpages first, can I then submit it to my other sites a day or two later without it getting caught by them as duplicate?

Thanks,
-Robert

I don't know about a day or two later, but I do have a couple hubs where the content has been reposted elsewhere since and I haven't heard anything about it. I'd probably wait until you'd had it up there a little while before using the content somewhere else.

Or, if you know you're getting revenue-driving traffic from the effort, why not outsource the re-writing? It's not that expensive.

Thanks Ben. Actually, outsourcing the re-writes is a damn good idea. I've tried outsourcing the writing of the articles themselves, which I was really unhappy with, but I haven't even considered having them re-written from my own original.

      Good call.
