Is this a good backlinking strategy?

I actually just wrote this for my personal success blog but thought I could get some actual good feedback here.

Over the past year, I have learned that a big part of getting your keyword articles up in the rankings is with good links or at least some links. I haven't ever really figured out the right backlinking strategy yet. I think thats mostly because I've never really stuck with my plans.



This round I have been very good at making a plan for everything I'm doing. Each process has a list I have to follow for it to be done. It's really helping with my productivity.



Anyways, here is what I'm doing to backlink each of my articles that are posted 1 a day in a small niche site. Each article has 2 links in the resource box. One leads to my squeeze page, the other leads to another article with keyword anchor text.

Day 1

Yes it's a more than 1 day process. I don't know if this has any effect at all but I figure spreading out the links over a couple days won't look as bad as dumping a couple hundred links a few minutes after I post the article. Here is what I do on day 1:


Submit to EzineArticles, Xanga, WetPaint, Blogger, Gather, Ping.FM (one big broadcast), and I use onlywire on it which gets out to about 20 more sites.

Day 2

I don't spin my articles. I wish I had time to spin each article for day 2 and 3 but i don't. Thankfully, I won this sweet package from the Warrior Forum which included Icansoft's ArticleBot. It has helped with my article submissions tremendously. I can spin the articles and automate submission...awesome.




I submit to about 100 article directories with ArticleBot. GoArticles, ArticleBase, etc.
Day 3

I just use ArticleBot again for day 3 and send to another 200 article directories.


I used to post to Squidoo too, but I hate it. I want to add in HubPages and a few others in there somewhere too.


That's pretty much my backlinking strategy I'm using right now. It takes roughly 30 minutes to do. I also do a lot of links to my articles with social marketing, but that's for another post. I have high hopes that my social marketing efforts are going to be worth it.


I launched my small niche site about 4 days ago and I have 5 subscribers already. 9 have actually submitted their email addresses but only 5 confirmed so far. Total of 64 visitors to my articles so far. I've actually gotten a couple visitors from my targeted keywords from google already. It's small potatoes so far but I'm just starting this sucker. I have lots planned for it too. I'm slightly worried its not going to be a buying niche but we will see. Maybe I can persuade them with awesome sales copy lol


Let me know what you guys think of it. If you think I need more, I could always start onlywiring each of the posts on day 1 for extra backlinks.

    Thats pretty cohesive,
    a lot depends on the competition.
    with some keywords, that will be plenty, with some it is a good start.
    (You can get as crazy as you like, like link spirals, etc... once again, if the keywords you are targeting have weaker pages on page 1, that's enough.
    The only thing you might do is check every so often a new and more aggresive player hasn't targeted the same keywords.

      My backlinking Strategy: Here Goes.

      1. Create My Post
      2. Onlywire to get me indexed
      3. Spin article (which I am thinking has no effect)
      4. Submit to around 250 Article Sharing sites with Automatic Article Submitter
      5. Shoot a short 3-5 minute video
      6. Load the Article and Video into traffic Geyser...blast to 70+ Article sites, social media sites, video sharing sites, blog sites.
      7. I use Synnd, (the content syndication network) to build buzz by boosting my bookmarketing and syndicating my content on different social media sites.

      That is my whole strategy..hope it helps you guys out.

    Yea I figure that would be enough for the easy keywords. 90% of my keywords get 3k searches a month and under 50k competition. So I do like to go after big keywords too though.

    I am also going to be doing videos for each article. That's just a week or two away. That should help with the traffic pretty nicely.
