I think this is true because I've noticed also that my favorite sites when searching in Firefox always come first and when I tried asking my friend what was the ranking of my site using his browser it comes on the second page where in my browser it is in #1 position. I feel there is something behind IPs, ISPs, cookies, browsers or registry that cause this personalized or favoritism issue. I think it's good for most people but to us that most of the times depend on organic search would probably think twice on how to make it favorable to us.

It's sometimes strange how this thing works. Seems that you would get the same Google ranking and position no matter which browser you're using, but it doesn't always work that way.

clear your cache, log out of your Google account, then check the results.

better, use a software like Market Samurai to figure out the number of results for a keyword
