Redirecting EZA to affiliate links

I am starting a site in a specific niche. My intention is to have a blog on my website and also to post articles to EZA (and other article sites).

For visitors finding my EZA articles, I don't wanna waste time sending them to my blog and want to send them directly to my affiliate link. I am no sure about the redirect rules. I know that EZA doesn't allow direct affiliate links in their resource box.

Question 1)
Could I host my blog at mysite.com AND point my EZA articles to mysite.com/subpage (where this subpage is actually a redirect to my affiliate link?

Question 2)
If the redirect must be on the root mysite.com, then is it better to buy a new .com and just use that as a redirect. Can you use .co.uk too? Or is it better to use mysite.com as a redirect and mysite.com/blog as the blog.

    Q1) No
    Q2) Yes

    You can only use redirect on your top level domain, eg domain.com
    You can place your blog on a sub directory while redirecting your TLD

      Awesome, thanks.

      I suppose the downside to doing this is returning/direct traffic can't find you as easily.

      Perhaps I shall just buy another domain name.

    For simple redirection purposes, you can buy a cheap .info domain for $2.99 as use that. Don't spend $10+ for a .com if that's all you're using for.

      Yep, .info sounds like a plan.

      Hey, where do you get a .info for $2.99? My current host charges around £8 = $12 per year for one.

        I know there one or two Warriors who do this (I think literally one, or two) but it's really very difficult to make affiliate sales by direct-linking like this, Mark, when your competitors are almost all doing more. And of course it's impossible to build a list. Just saying.
        Content is on EZA. Should my site offer additional content (e.g more ways to do X), a different article on a similar topic, or should I link directly to my "here a bonus if you signup to my list page (then try to sell to them via the list). I just felt that if a user clicked on my EZA link and came to a similar article on my page, it's just another step to go through and why not shorten the process.

    yeah she's right your affiliate links on ezine must be redirected from a root directory, it's really easy just buy .info domains for like 89 cents on godaddy and you can setup redirecting on their site even if you don't have hosting through them.

    I use it for several of my ezine articles

    I have to agree with Alexa, direct linking isn't going to make you much of any sales. Instead of trying to send them directly to the affiliate page, why not send them to a squeeze page and then have them go through a auto-responder series that provides them high value content around the niche that you are in and then after say day 7, then you can start to promote affiliate programs. Provided you build a relationship with the person first.

    Can I redirect to a sup domain like product/mysite.info or can I only redirect to mysite.info?

    Thanks

    To redirect from a subdirectory on your existing domain, open up your preferred text editor and type:

    <?PHP
    Header("Location: www.YourRedirectAffiliateLinkHere.com");
    Exit;
    ?>

    Save the file with a .php extension and upload to your sever. When you link to that file it'll redirect to your desired link.

    Hope that helps!
