How do you deal with this? (list building Q.)

When an affiliate directs their list to your sales page, and it results in a sale, how do you capture that customer onto your list?

I'm using ClickBank, which gives me very limited info about the customer, but does include an email address.

And I'm using Aweber, which can integrate with CB, but still requires a double opt-in after they've purchased the product. That means I'll lose more than a few simply because they don't click the opt-in link.

It seems building a list of clients who've already purchased is KEY, especially for future marketing down the road, but I can't wrap my head around an easy way to do this?

Thoughts?

Your thank you page should have an opt-in for the customer to submit in order to get their access to your product. Most sellers do this because it is a very effective way to build a list of proven buyers. You can set it up something like>
Thank you! Complete & Submit The Form Below

    opt-in box here

After you submit this form, an email will be sent to the address you provide. The email will contain a confirmation link which you must click to confirm you're request to receive the item. Once you confirm, another email will be sent to you which contains the access information for the item.
Your email address will not be shared!!

      To add something to spiderweb,
Have the confirm email be download link.

The confirm will say, "click here and go to the download page". In aweber set the url to your download page.

Your 1st follow up could be "thanks here is a back of the download page for your references."

Force submit them, as the OP said.

Give them a "To prevent fraud and for security purposes" speech. People are pretty comfortable with those.

Use a single optin autoresponder and a script that forward the data from clickbank automatically (check my signature)
