Video Idea for Traffic With Offline Businesses

Recently, I saw a few inspiring videos that were being used to drive traffic to websites.

The idea is to make a video that has a good inspirational message that can or cannot tie into what you are doing on the web.

There are sites with The Numbers Movie, The Boss Movie, The Basketball Movie, etc.

Here's my take on it for traffic:

Anyone else used this technique?

It's a fast paced video/music that can draw much attention to
    the message.

You can make a similar video for free at animoto.com.
The video is 30 seconds, and you can chooseo the images they provide.

People have a short attention span, and to get their attention it takes
a few seconds before they hit that dreaded 'back' button.

It's great when you want to just grab at people's attention.
    Great choice of music, btw.

It evokes lots of emotion, and emotion is the reason for
    about 75% of buying decisions.

      I appreciate the kind comments.

What I was going for here was what happened to me when I was growing up.... I always wanted to be in entertainment, but almost everyone said I couldn't do it, I was barking up the wrong tree, why not get a real job, etc.

Well, I performed over 27 years and made money. My performing career helped me get into the consultant's business... and the rest is, as they say, history.

      Thanks again for the comments.

        It can and does work.

Remember that great video "An Interview With God" that started getting millions of hits a day back when internet video was still in its infancy.

But keep in mind that results are unpredictable and even if you get the traffic from a vide it may not convert into real sales.

It can be fun though and you never know...you might hit a home run with a video like that.

If the product you're selling appeals to the same emotions and demographics as your video that should increase your chances of making sales.

        Kindest regards,

This video was a trial balloon, of sorts.

I wanted to find out about the use of these vids and if they did work. I've gotten close to 200 hits from this video.

Need to mention that I put the video on a specific website with the video being the ONLY thing on the site.

All I have to do is figure out how to redirect using Quicktime.... I'm on a Mac.

    Keep looking up,

It seems that most of the online movie clips that are funny and have cult like following are by accident.. it would be very expensive to make a creative movie that sticks.. think about superbowl tv commercials... but you can create less costly clips with enough following to work for you.

The move called The Numbers Movie was specifically created to get work at home moms to go to a website. The movie was created, then converted to Flash where a redirect was embedded to take the viewer to an opt-in page.

According to the author, The Barefoot Executive, it worked pretty well.

I agree that with a small niche, it can be very effective.

    Warmly,
