Translating Niche Blogs?

Just an idea I had - English is not my first language but I know it very well, so it's easy for me to translate English content into my native tongue pretty fast.

It should be harder for Google et al to figure out that this content is duplicate, right? I know they have translation technology, but it's nowhere near perfect... and it should be very unlikely that I'd be caught by the original IP holder as well.

I mean could potentially translate a complete niche websites to my language in a few hours and have it online...

Anyone tried this? Wanna cooperate?

    Let me make sure that I understood your post correctly.

    You want to steal someone else's hard work, convert it to a different language so you can make money off their work - all the while hoping that neither Google nor the copyright holder get wise to what you've done.

    And you're even looking for a partner on this.

    I'm sorry if that's how my post came across... What I meant with cooperation was something like "I'll translate your content". Meaning it's a deal.

    What I was focusing on was that this could potentially be a way to get around SEO penalties for duplicate content. It could also be a blakhat way of "stealing" content without risk, which of course doesn't mean it's a good thing to do.

    Sorry if I got ahead of myself there, but I was really thinking about a legal collaboration to make money off the same content twice, in two different markets.
