Default Stupid Question About Adding Friends

I'm just trying to avoid being rude here...

If someone requests to be my friend and I approve them, is it automatically reciprocal?

I'd hate to think I was being "One Way" about the requests I'm getting, LOL....

Hi Mike,

if you click YES to their request, you are automatically added to each others list.

Kindest regards,
Karl.

Oh great! Now you've got me wondering. I've just been approving. I thought it was automatic.

If not ..... SORRY ALL

Hi Big Mike

I'm glad you asked the question.

I sent a request to someone but as an afterthought I sent a PM to let them know that I'd made a request and did they mind? Totally daft but it seemed a more polite way of doing it.

I'm not very good at making friends either online or offline so at least I have one friend in the forum :-) Hopefully I'll get a lot more in time.

Best wishes

Mary

Well, here's an even dumber question.

What's the purpose of having these "friends" on a forum like this? Seriously, I don't know.

I just had someone request to be my friend, and, well, I said yes. Why? Because I'm Canadian, and we're all just a friendly bunch of people! :-)

I am getting requests from people I don't know. Is it rude to deny requests from friends we don't know? What is the proper forum etiquette?

Not sure about proper etiquette, but I just approve all requests. You might not really know them, but isn't that what networking is all about? Also, I don't see why it hurts to approve them.

I kind of had the same question...

What the hell do you do with them?

I thought about using the pop up friends thing and blasting them all a PM...lol

Being a 'friend' is just someone saying, 'I like where you're coming from, don't be a stranger'. After a while you should be pretty sure that your friend pool is full of people that you get on with more than the average member... as long as you are pro-active at inviting people you recognise you like. Keeping in touch with like minded people can have advantages.

PS check out this vid about head tracking, amazing ....

I like getting them I just think we should be able to party or something. Pick a day and throw an online bash, something. There isn't even a way to communicate really, beside the pm pop up thing..

I'm throwing a party on any day that has a 'y' in it and everyone is invited. Feel free to come over to my profile and totally trash the place.

Jason Moffat tried that with a $10 eBay auction to follow him on Twitter so you would want to make sure you charged at least $10
:-)
