I am a Beginner and really want to have this online money making world be my full time job. I'm trying to tackle affiliate marketing and adsense. I've set up a couple websites and a few blogs, nothing special, and I've also written a few articles. I haven't REALLY made any money...what's my problem?
Do I need to write 20 articles a day?
Do I need to update my blog every hour?
I'm not sure I quite understand exactly what I'm doing wrong.
I can give you my links to check out what I have and give me some tips
please someone out there help me.

The thread above comes very highly rated, someone has given it 5 stars and it is perfect for newbies like us...

He goes through the whole process, and though it is spread over multiple pages he actually answers questions you may have and not understand.

You will find out how to recognise product from amazon, which have huge reputation value and manage to convert to easy sales. (relatively)

Hi Ryan, one of the first things you say is you have a couple of websites and blogs but nothing special (!) One of the things that we continually read is that fresh, original content is what will help your traffic and potential sales. If you think that your articles are nothing special why would anybody else come back to visit your site/blog. Why don't you make one of the sites special and attract visitors/comments etc and then move onto the next one and do the same. You mention that you want to make this your full time business. If you read the post's on this forum you will discover that business is serious! Stretch yourself to get the quality you need and maybe something will start to happen for you. Did you click the link on David's post and read about PWard, he got serious!

    good luck

by nothing special I mean they aren't pro quality or anything. I've gotten alot of article views and alot of blog/website views but they haven't really amounted to anything...I feel as though I'm missing some pieces to an almost complete puzzle

Are you ready? Here is what I see...
            • You have too much going on.
            • you are not going long tail enough.
            • you are not building a business yet.

I know they talk about diversification and stuff... BUT you can only be doing one thing at a time. So the strategy for the single man army is:

            1. Take a niche,
            2. take the system to completion,
            3. see if it gives money or not

if it gives money, outsource the growing of the business out of the money it pulls.

if it doesn't... put it in the freezer and move on. Don't kill it, you never know when you might find a way to make it work.

            4. Only now, you can move to the next niche.

From everything I saw, I liked the hub. I think it can be a money pulling niche. BUT, you are giving too much information.

Any property that is not yours has only one purpose: to send traffic to your house. Why? because there you are king.

I would add some introduction to teh hub, re-structure it to make it easier to read and a bit less informative. And send the traffic to a squeeze.

"don't even think about buying a foam-whatever mattress without reading this report first"

            grab their info.

in the report put the rest of the info, and something else you find around. And a resources page with your affiliate links.

then start sending the email about good sleep and stuff plus the solution, that is usually a product, service or ebook.

setup a google rss notification email with the main keywords to have material to write about.

it's like sitting in a bar with your friends and comment the news... nothing too heavy. Boys liek to do that... they can see the girls walking and stuff. We prefer the phone.

            ------------

Now for the record... if you go long tail enough to desperate buyers keywords, you can still make money just sending traffic to the product with light presell.

But, that is not to build a business.

In the last years, people with corp mind jumped in the system and grew structures. They changed the rules of the game. You can't compete with them in the long run unless you own your piece of the pie and it is too much hassle for anyone to come and take it from you.

            hope it helps...

                Hi Ryan,

Hey, I noticed a pretty big flaw in your ezine article. You need to have your keyword phrase hyperlinked in your resource box. So for example, I assume your keyword phrase you are targeting for this article is "get my ex back". So the way you should put the link in the resource box would be like this "<Za hZref ="http://www.getyourexbacknoww.weebly.com/eczema-natural-remedies/"> get my ex back <Z/a>" I put what you need to copy between the quotes and added a couple capital "Z" 's so it wouldn't link in the forum.

Also I noticed you mistyped the actual link, because the one in the article doesn't exist, but if I remove the extra "w" in the word "know" the link work.

The point of spending the time writing articles is to get traffic and link juice so it's important to make sure the author box is correct.

                Hope this helps

                Hi,

rss feeds... go to Google Alerts

setup an alert for your keywords, you will receive it in your inbox.

too much info: yes you are. It is too long for an article, kind of boring and give all the info there. Articles need to lead the person through a path and encourage them to take action.

You expect them to click on the ads and buy from there? not gonna happen. Not in that niche.

they will use the info you gave them to visit a store or look for brands.

                the article should have:

                introduction
                benefits
brands' short description, cons and contraries or something that helps them choose one

                each brand links to:
another article talking about the brand, models and options, pros and contraries of each, if you find a vid in youtube, better
                or
the page in the store where they are selling it (if there is one with long description and you can deep link, much better)

what is too much or too little? ask a friend to read it and pay attention to his/her face... if your friends get interested when reading and follow your link, then it is right. If they remember they needed to water the plants half way, it was too long.

This is not a science, it is an art. You feel your way to the right article.

I know it is a frustrating answer. But that is how it is.

Marketing is an art, no matter if it is online or offline. And the only way to master the art is doing it, again and again, until you get it right.

pump out articles... google your keywords, the first page will tell you what you have to do.

look for windows of opportunity, stones and movable pieces.

if you have good traffic in that hub, I would finish the funnel first and see how to send traffic later.

A lil rant: long time ago there were not so many affiliate programs, so you chose what to say in terms of the offers.

Now... EVERY SINGLE STORE HAS AFFILIATE PROGRAM. This means that you are free to find niches you like AND give money, and you can be honest.

You can recommend as if money where out of the question and have a good living.

This single fact changes the way you write and connect to people, it puts the guard of your customer down and encourage them to buy.

A seasoned marketer CAN market any niche, but if you are out there to lose your IM virginity, find something where you can add value from your own experience (or that you want to learn).

buying long tail keywords: brands and models, specifics (example: light blue t cup dog shirt), modifiers like "buy", "cheap", "discount"...

ffffffffff this is long... have to go.

                hope it helps,
                Laura

    Focus...always remember quality over quantity.

One thing I notice (and it's a personal pet peeve) is a lack of organization in posts. Writing a ton of text is impossible to read.

    I care...therefore I'm saying (add paragraphs).

The reason I say this...is b/c it might be indicative of your current business. You make nothing b/c you aren't organized.

Also, the difference between 10 articles a day...and 20 articles a day...is only the quantity...what you're doing is what matters.

Also, stick to one niche and build a reputation...I've never been a fan of "bread crumb" businesses like adsense and affiliate marketing (I make a lot as an affiliate but it's inconsistent...hence my natural aversion)....

Great job starting up...but get one domain and then crank on it...use it to build an asset...not just a bunch of web pages.

Hope that gives you some food for thought.

    Cheers,

    Brad

When I started trying to earn money online, I thought it was supposed to be working smart, not hard. Writing several articles a day is time consuming, I've done it, and it made me some money, but not enough to quit my day job. I've tried the Adsense thing, I got clicks that paid but have not made $100 to this day. If blogging/affiliate programs are what you want to do, join a free article website, that you can link back to your blog, like Ezine Articles. That would definitely bring you some traffic and then the money should follow.

    Ryan,

I'm sure you have gotten enough advice that will help you in the long run. The keyword is focus! Focus on a niche and don't bother been jack of all trade. When you get focused, you see result quickly.

I want to add my own sort of help to this, get a domain name and host it as well, when you do, I will help you set up a Professional Wordpress blog with all the stuffs you need to get it running fast.

This is just my own two cents as I have received so much help from this forum and I won't mind giving to someone that needs one at the moment.

get back to me as soon as you figure out your niche and get the domain registered and hosted.

2010 will SURELY be a GREAT year for us all.

    cheers

Hi Ryan, I nipped back to the thread to see if you had the feedback that you wanted, well you have and then some! Just had a quick look at the mattress page and my initial thought was this is all fact, if I was searching for a new mattress I may not be sleeping well. I would be desperate to cure that if it was me, I bet I would respond to a question like

"When was the list time you had a restful night's sleep" or

Do you think that you'll NEVER get a good night's sleep again?

You currently have "Facts about memory foam matresses"

Anyway Ryan gotta scoot, keep working hard, you have already come a long way. Now persevere and perfect as you go.

    Best wishes
