If you mean for your computer, I use Kaspersky.

I've used many others but Kaspersky outdid them all with unmatched customization, reports, detection and generally killing any vile virus which got in it's way.

Sorry, I have a little thing for Kaspersky if you can't tell

what are y'all thoughts onthe anti-virus offerings from Comodo and AVG?

The Comodo one seems good as it is nicely integrated with a firewall as well...

After 20 years of computer support and trying numerous products I used AVG Professional.

My order of real preference though is:

      Trend Micro PC-Cillin (Or OfficeScan)
      Kaspersky
      AVG
      Avast

The last two became favorites due to all the clients who refused to pay for AV for home use. We'd just throw on the home options and let them fly.

Norton was a big favorite until about 3 years ago, then they destroyed their product, and made it the worst performing behemoth on the planet.

I'm using AVG because they offered me a free year of professional when I signed up for Netflix.

NOD 32...it uses up so little of your resouces. I also have some plug-in that I have for Firefox such as Netcraft's toolbar which watches out for phishing sites.

Personally, I prefer to use PCTools' SpywareDoctor & Antivirus.

It's not hte most popularized tool out there, but it hardly takes up any memory and is constantly kept up to date... a top tool if you ask me.

I wish this was true, it would really narrow down and simplify the post-virus outbreak fact finding. "If any PC is infected, the employee assigned to that PC IS AT FAULT!"...

But I'd be interested to see the research behind your statement that operator error, as opposed to developer/programmer error, was the cause of MOST virus infections.

Nod32 has destroyed any other anti-virus that I've used, coupled with a router it makes for a great double-whammy barrier.

PC, you're dead-ass right on! On his tech radio show Leo Laporte repeats this until he is blue in the face. The #1 security defense for any PC attached to the internet is human behavior.

I use a combination of Avira Antivir and the NoScript Firefox add-on. NoScript prevents Javascript, Java, and other scripts on websites from running unless the site is added to a whitelist.

Suppressing scripts for most domains is a little annoying, but it also minimizes the risk I'll pick up something nasty from a hacked website. It's worked so far.
