Do you Twitter? - You NEED to Do This

I came upon a post the yesterday on a blog that
shows you how to customize your Twitter backgrounds.

Why is it important to customize your backgrounds apart
from the designs that they let you choose from?

BECAUSE YOU WANT TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD.

Anytime you can separate yourself from everyone else
in your niche you're doing something right - well almost
anytime.

Anyway, when someone goes to your Twitter page and
sees that yours is different they're going to take notice
and there is a better chance of getting a follow.

I just finished customizing all of my backgrounds and it
wasn't that hard.

I put my url in every one of them, the URL to my squeeze
pages and even a sticky note encouraging people to follow
me.

I highly suggest that you do this.

You can find out how at:
template size Twitter background guidelines - Croncast

If you don't already know how.

Don't be scared of by all the technical stuff there.

I just took a bunch of screenshots of my page and figured
out where I could put stuff on the background so it would
be seen on my page.

    Excellent resources!

Having a customized background is also an excellent way to build your brand.

Is Twittering really helping people make money online? It's one of several web 2.0 things that are on my "to check out" list - wondering if anyone has had REAL results with it?

I would think Twitter backgrounds is something to use carefully and to test...I've come across many twitter profiles where I didn't follow because of an unprofessional background.

The first thing to master is twitter posting...not sure the backgrounds are really going to make any difference in terms of signups or credibility.

It definitely drives traffic. As for making money, well, I haven't quite figured that one out in a general sense.

I've gotten eight ghost writing clients so far from Twitter. I have found Twitter to be an awesome networking tool; I'd honestly have to say it's equal to the Warrior Forum in terms of getting me good, paying clients.

Of course you have to go over there and Tweet regularly, to get the maximum benefit from it. It's like anything else, you get out of it what you put into it.

And Mike, I'm THRILLED with the link on Twitter backgrounds! Very helpful!

I doubt the background on your profile makes much difference. That's never made me want to follow someone- the most common reason I'm even seeing someone's profile is that I clicked on their username after deciding to follow them.

How many people are looking at random profiles there?

I'm a twitter addict, but haven't considered changing the background. I've noticed that most backgrounds take a few seconds to load.

The resources listed here look gr8. I'll try them. thx for sharing.

Agree Dana, networking is #1 benefit of Twitter - also pick up a few new customers and lots of new subscribers from it each month. Two major jv's over the last month have been the biggest tangible result.

I am also using Twitter but am not so sure how good it is when it comes to generating leads or anything in that perspective.

Just started it about a month ago so it is probably too early to know if it is any good.

Thanks for the advice guys and ladies

    Thanks for this thread guys,

I have just started playing with twitter and was wondering whether or not it would be worth the effort.
You have answered a resounding yes to that question.

Is there any way twitter can help with backlinks? because that is what I need right now?

    cheers
