Can Amazon Links be Hacked?

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question but i'm a newbie. I have heard about the importance of cloaking your clickbank affiliate links due to hacking and because the clickbank affiliate links just look UGLY.

My question is. Can amazon affiliate links be hacked and should you cloak them?

Thanks in advance you all.

The short answer is Yes, and Probably Not.

If you look at Amazon links, one of the parameters passed to the server is "tag=affiliatename".

Someone could, in theory, replace that tag with their own. Because Amazon does not allow buying from your own account, most affiliates know better than to try it.

A bigger danger is someone stripping out the affiliate parameters altogether. There are still people out there that resent the idea that you make money when they buy something.

There's not much you can do about those people. If they are bound and determined to cheat you out of your commission, they will...

I agree with John, it's not likely to get an Amazon link hacked, but the real hackers out there can pretty much hack what ever they want!
