Please point me to a Good Press Release Distribution Service

I have tried some of the press releases service and let me tell you they suck with Very low approval rates(below 10%).Do you think this is normal for a quality Press Release? What are the approval rates like for you ?

Please point me to a Press Release Service you are using or recommend?
It can be anything and anywhere, not necessarily in WF.

Thanks in Advance.

The 3 I recommend are PrWeb, PrLead, and Web Wire. The last one is pretty flexible as they understand that some things aren't real press releases, but can pass for "news".

I've written several and I can only remember one not getting accepted because I was promoting an affiliate offer.

If your releases aren't getting accepted, it could be that you aren't writing them correctly. If this is the case, follow these tips heret:

    Hope this helps.

If your approval rates are that low, then it's safe to say you are either filling your press release with sales copy instead of journalistic-style writing or you can't write an English sentence.

I've been writing and submitting press releases for a couple of decades and only once (in what must be more than 400 releases) in all that time have I had a release not approved, and that was because the service thought it was defamatory to a company mentioned in the release.

You're obviously doing something terribly wrong.

See the (free) press release primer at my site at Anatomy of a News Release

Sorry to say it but I'm with Marcia here - I've NEVER had a press release not go straight through on any of these sites.

And I use them every week.

I have been using PRlog for a number of years and have had no problems with postings, getting good search engine results for both new and existing sites which are referenced

Are you asking about press release submission software or manually submitting press releases to paid and/or free sites? Or a press release writing service?

I also agree with Marcia and Andy.

If your approval rating is that low I would say there is a fundamental flaw in how you are writing your press release.

    Best of Luck!

It's true that all of the paid sites and most of the free sites will review your press release for proper press release formatting, newsworthy content, good spelling and grammer, etc.

But there are a few free sites out there which are more lax than others in their review process. I've seen some that allow promotional articles to be posted (not proper PR format or newsworthy content), so you could give them a try. Here are a couple of links:You could also just pay to have someone write one for you or pay to have someone edit your writing to increase your odds of getting it accepted.

But keep in mind, the press release distribution sites really aren't intended to be article directories.

So if you don't have an angle to present your information as 'news', and your 'press release' is really just an article in disguise, you'd be better off putting up a free Web 2.0 blog at Blogger, or just submitting it to an article directory for the backlinks.

      Cheers,

I don't believe the "lax" sites can survive long. Why? Because Google News has quality standards, and if the releases are not getting into Google News there is little point in posting them as press releases. In addition, without editorial scrutiny it's just a matter of time until the sites have legal problems that bring them down.

Press releases get MUCH more scrutiny from all parties than other kinds of content, and that's probably a good thing when you look at the big picture. Without that fact, they would not be regarded as credible sources of information and have a higher status in Google's eyes than other information.
