Test your site how it looks in different browsers.
It allows to see how your site looks in a variety of different browsers, different resolution and so forth.
(This is only a very few browsers in the picture, the site allows way more)
For example, i recently discovered that a blog of mine looked totally screwed up in Internet Explorer. I am using FireFox and simply didnt check my layout in Explorer. 45% of all visitors to my blog saw a MESS!!
--> You need to know that about 45% of all site visitors use Firefox, 45% use IE...and the majority of visitors do actually use low resolutions with 1024x width the most common. (I myself am using a 1680x monitor, but it should be common sense that you need to make sites which look good and display right for the majority of visitors, therefore design your sites for maximum width of 1024!!)
That site above helps a lot since you can get an idea how it will look in many browsers and resolutions, Linux, Windows, Opera, IE, FireFox, Chrome etc..etc
