Membership or Adsense site?

I know this is an open-ended questions but does anyone have an opinion?

I am also aware that there are many factors involved and the answer to this question depends on several variables.

With all things being equal, does anyone have an opinion as to whether or not membership sites are as prosperous as adsense sites?

    one question i would ask will the visitors stick around? if not.. i will go with adsense.. otherwise.. membership ..you can also have both though if that will not hurt user experience much

    With the right amount of traffic... Adsense can bring in plenty of $$. The ONLY catch is that they click your ads and leave your site.

    Membership sites can be VERY profitable... but you MUST keep it filled with good (and new content). You must also ADVERTISE your membership site.

    I guess it all depends on your content... I'd go with a membership site... because I have ALOT of Adsense sites, and I make way more with my membership sites.
