How hard is it to bump a PR-2 website out of Google's top 10?

I have niche site I want to build for a keyword phrase and the .com extension is available. There are five PR:2 websites in the top 10 for my KWP and the other six sites in the top 10 are PR:3.

Since I will have the .com extension for my KWP can I crack the top 10 pretty easily?

Opinions please????

While you didn't provide all that much information such as the number of backlinks pointing to the sites or age of the sites, I would say you shouldn't have any trouble getting into the top 10 within a few months, and with some effort, you should be able to get into the top 3 in 6-12 months.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

I dont really think the extension matters so much... .org works better for me sometimes

How can do you determine how many back links a site has?

I'd suggest downloading SEO Quake, their free version is excellent and will give you tons of competition info
