INTERNET MARKETING

Hey guys I have more than likely easy question for those who are good with WP...

Here goes. When I am posting a new post, and editing and whatever, my text/html box where my post goes into wants to jump back to the beginning. it is really getting frustrating with long posts. I have to go back and find the spot I was working on.

I have delt with it for a long time, but it is just taking extra time that I do not wish to part with...time is money right?

If that question is not clear enough let me know.

Make your text editor box bigger in Settings/General the default is 10 you might want to go 30 if you are chatty hopefully that solves your jumping back problem

You had me skipping over to one of my blogs to see this for myself. Unbelievable! I have been using WP for more than 2 years and never noticed that.

Off to check that menu bar out and see what else I've missed.

Both of the tips are rocking....The bigger text box is a lifesaver...thanks. Why I have you guys here. How do I change the text color for all the posts. It is a grey color now, and I would love to make it black. The grey to me is a little hard on the eyes.

HELP NEEDED! My Mother And Her Brother have been taking care of the mother with the help of Hospice. He just had a Massive Heart Attack while taking a short vacation. If you are talking about your blog, you need to do that from the theme editor.

Most likely the Stylesheet (style.css)

One thing that has driven me crazy for a while is, when I paste from a txt file, I would get some goofy fonts showing up on my blog.

Then I figured out to paste it in using the html editor instead of the visual editor. Then when you toggle back to the visual editor, everything is in standard WP font, and it also transfers to your blog correctly.

Don't ask me why, but it works.

You can also use the "Paste From Word" button - the icon is a clipboard with a W on it. That strips out Word's weird formatting codes too.

To the OP: if you have autosave on, I have noticed that sometimes when a save happens, the cursor jumps back to the beginning of the post.

Yeah, Iv'e never used that since I don't use Word. I figured it was Word specific.

Now this one I knew about. Right beside the paste from word button, there is a paste from text (T) button. Assuming you are using plain text and not RTF.

Actually, that is not for pasting FROM plain text. It is for pasting AS plain text!

The difference between the W button and the T button is this:
- W keeps some basic formatting from Word, like bold and italic but gets rid of the garbage code of Word
- T will paste it as plain text, no matter what the formatting was in Word

I just changed the featured post to black, and on my home page it is. But after you click on the featured link and it actually goes to the page it is still grey.

Sometimes they override the stylesheet. I'm really not a coder, so I don't know.

I usually just mess around with one thing at a time until it changes.

But I found out the hard way to always copy the original code to my hard drive in case I screw up and forgot what I just messed with.
