If you are on a mac and get macspeech dictate they give you a plantronics headset.

PC users go with Naturally Speaking Dragon - but I don't know that it comes with any hardware.

I actually make videos for a living and use an old lavalier mic (tie-mic) which works great. Just clip it to your top and you're away

Ive made a couple of screencast tutorials using camtasia, and I have a headset microphone by sennheisser which I got from P C world for about £30.

It may not be the best but I get good crisp results from it and its more than adequate.

The headset that I have that is made by Microsoft is really good. It was about $25 on Amazon.

I bought a Naturally Speaking Dragon set which included the software & a tape recorder. It takes 20mins to set up the tape recorder to recognise your speech patterns.
Then all you do is record your conversations, stop recording, plug the recorder into your PC via the USB plug & the magic happens.
It saved me so much time.
The only drawback is if there is someone else speaking as well on the recorder because it won't be configured for their speech.

Nothing to sell, only value to give and new knowledge to learn.

Naturally speaking 10 (10 is much better than 9) is absolutely great for transcription - easily the most accurate I've used - can pretty much transcribe a 500 word article with hardly any errors.

    The headset comes included.
