When creating a site to sell-should I use my real details when creating accounts? (address ect.)

I don't know what the 'normal practice' is. I know I need to protect myself online, so when creating an ezine account and clickbank account for example should I use my real details?

I didn't want to bump the thread, thank you for all your answers!

    Hello Steve..
Yes, you absolutely want to open the clickbank account in your name then you can use a user name for your links.
But you need a legitimate account so you can get paid for affiliate sales .. as far as the ezine account that is your call.. but I would.

I have an account in my name then I use some pen names .

Your clickbank info will be removed when you sell the site the new owner will plug in there own clickbank info so they get paid .

I would recommend using your real details when creating accounts online. However, you are correct that this can create difficulties when selling accounts.

I would say the four options in this case are:
    • Create the account under a fake name
    • Create the account under the future owner's name (only works if you know who will be the owner)
    • Change the details when you sell (only works some of the time)
    • Have the new owner create their own account (requires all the affiliate links to be manually updated)
All of these options have some problems, but they should work.

    Any other (hopefully better) ideas?

For anything that pays me, I use my real name. For anything else, I use my pen name, which is Katie Rich. I do use my real contact details though, for all.
