I started promoting bluehost and...

I found out that the $50 adwords a $25 yahoo offers they mention on their home page are only for US based customers. They do not mention that this offer is for US based customers only and others can not avail it.

Is it illegal? Is there a place to report this?

Are you kidding? Stop wasting your time on small matters and earn some money. I've made hundreds of dollars promoting Bluehost in the last couple months. It's a great company. It's also a US company. If you're not in the US and were worried about the credits, you should have asked before signing up. If I was about to sign on with a foreign company I would have. Come on man, your time is worth more than that.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

Why not just send Bluehost a polite email telling them you are promoting them to non-US customers and asking if they would consider just adding in brackets after that offer (for US customers only).

It almost always pays to be polite. Chances are they either won't answer you, or will give you some flannel. But you never know, they might just change it.

No need to get angst over it though. Other hosting companies have affiliate programs.

I will second to what rose mentioned, send them an email and they will promptly respond, I have used bluehost for several of my domains and I must confess,

they are the best, speaking about their free ad stuff I have used them even as a customer once outside usa, so ask them by email and i bet you they will reply

If you have a low traffic site you would probably be happy with BlueHost. If you have paid one year in advance and some hosting company just cancelled your hosting because they cannot handle your site, then you will be as unhappy as me. They did not even ask me if I want to upgrade to a higher package. Just say they are terminating my site, and offer ZERO REFUNDS on my balance because according to them, my site took too much of their resources. They didnt sound unhappy when I paid them one year in advance.

I was about to blog about them, but thought I shouldnt waste my time on such people. They will be found out by someone who has more time than me. I should spend my time making money elsewhere and host elsewhere.
