Best tutorial for Wordpress?

INTERNET MARKETING

Looking for some advice here. What I want is my own niche site for affiliate marketing...Amazon products and also products from Commission Junction, etc.

I can write articles, so I can create my own content.

As I read through various forums, I get the impression that self-hosted Wordpress is the best way to go.

As I'm pretty challenged when it comes to anything technical, I would feel more confident if I had a really good tutorial that I could use for setting up a Wordpress site.

Are there any recommendations out there?

Well, to get started

You could use Hostgator or Bluehost, webhosting.

Hostgator has a wordpess plugin so once you have setup your hostgator account you can setup wordpess in a few clicks with your domain name.

Once, you have wordpress installed for your domain, you can log in, and you can search google for free wordpress themes and templates for your website background.

You can add the all-in-one-SEO plug and create your title and description as well as keywords for your site.

Then all you have to do is create content with pages or posts, which ever you prefer. You can add wigits to the side for adsense, affiliate links, pictures, website links, etc.

  First you need to register a domain name. I usually use namecheap.com for that.
  
  Then you need to find a webhost - if you find one that offers cpanel then you can easily install Wordpress in a few clicks.
  
  There are thousands of free templates you can choose from.

You can read the whole of Wordpress for dummies on Google for free
Look for it in Google books (cant post the link as I'm new)

Should answer most (if not all) of your questions

The Wordpress site has a ton of info as stated above, you can also pick up the Wordpress Bible (a how to manual from A-Z) which is being offered in the WSO forum at a reduced price.

  If you have "Fantastico" then its a very simple process.
  This is usually in the software area of cpanel.
  
  Fantastico will setup your wordpress for you.

im new when it comes to blogging...im using blogspot for starters and i heard alot of great things from WP...is there a setup on WP that enables you land on your main page not to your recent post...because this is the behavior im having trouble with blogspot ? pls help thnx
