I love when things are made simple.

To view the full list of features, go here:

Gmail: Tips

Now here is a tip or two to use it in IM..

1. For all the people who are on 1000 of lists
and get bombarded everyday(like me) can do this

Create a filter for messages you don't want to see
say from a person x then go to Settings>Filters>Create a new Filter>
Specify what you want done( There are many options)
and thats it, no need to worry rest is all automated.

You can:

Always Move a Certain message to a certain folder

Mark the message as read

Delete it

Store it

You get the point..

Now lets see some practical application of this

Lets say you have a product and a website

For every order lets say you have sales@yourdomain[.]com
as email address, for support lets say its support@yourdomain[.]com
and for contact say it s contact@yourdomain[.]com

Now in order to automate everything first you need a gmail account
dedicated to this website, then follow these steps:

First add a forwarding options to all your other email
addresses( this can be done from your hosting cpanel)

now all emails delivered to these emails will be
forwarded to the dedicated gmail you made for this website
(or all your websites)

then simply create filters in your gmail account for each
of these email addresses and specify what you want to do
with them( like storing them folder wise, adding a star, whatever)

and you are done.

Now you have a fully functional customer help desk
solution alternative ready and working for you
100% free and automated.

And in case you were thinking that you'd need
to constantly check your gmail to keep track
of everything, and you would be chained to a desk,
then what you need are these:

gmail alert plugin for firefox

Cheers!
