I need some help with Namecheap

The help I need is relatively simple.

1. How do I redirect a domain to my affiliate link

2. How do I change servers.

I used to know these things but I recently had problems. Maybe it was simply with namecheap.

Thanks and awaiting your help.

    Hi

Go into your Namecheap account, click on the domain you want to change.

To change name servers, click on the link "Domain name server setup" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Domain forwarding will only show up on the list if you haven't got any non-Namecheap name servers set. Select URL forwarding and change both sets of values. Then test to make sure you've got it right!

Namecheap's help is also pretty good and quite fast in my experience.

    Hope this helps,

    Trevor

Not really sure how to do this (cause I don't
    do it) but...

Login > Click on VIEW (beside number of domains
in your account) > choose the domain name >
on LEFT HAND menu, you can see CHANGE DNS
TO WEBHOST or DOMAIN NAME SERVER SETUP
    > Enter the required info > Save.

Here was a video I made after reading a tip
from a fellow Warrior some time back to save
    time when buying future domains:

Thanks for the tip, Asher! The majority of us don't buy domain names on a regular basis, and it can be a pain sometimes to navigate around and figure out the interface for changing the DNS settings. I use both godaddy and namecheap, and godaddy keeps changing the interface slightly every now and then. I'm not sure if godaddy has this feature for default DNS settings, but if it doesn't, then I think I'm going to have to make namecheap my default domain registrar!

    1. Login to your cpanel
    2. Under Domains, click Redirects
    3. Select type: Permanent (301)
    4. Select the domain name you want to redirect
    5. Enter the name of the 'folder' (can be anything eg. "whatever" OR blank)
    6. Enter you affiliate link
    7. Select "Redirect with or without www."
    9. Click Add

Note: your host may have different navigation panel but that's essentially one way to do it.

Your affiliate url now will be yourdomain.com/whatever
