How to promote a Clickbank product you don't own?

hello,

I hope i'm not repeating an existing thread but I wasn't able to find a similar topic after a few searches.

So I was curious to ask all those Clickbank affiliates out there how do you successully promote a Clickbank product that you don't own? I mea, i'm sure many people purchase the product and then become an affiliate for it, but those really successful with Clickbank can't possibly own EVERY product they promote can they?

I know if you don't own a the product that the vendor's sales page and newletters help but they don't really give you the experience of the product compared to a person who has actually used it.

Any pointers? Thanks!!

I personally use alot of article marketing to promote clickbank products. Alot of vendors provide articles to their affiliates so all you would need to do is go in and basically rewrite the aritlce in your own words. Then post them to various article directories like ezinearticles, goarticles, ideamarketers etc.. I also bookmark just about all of my articles and turn some of them into video and post them on sites such as Youtube, viddler and revver.

I would say do your own research into the product. A lot of people will promote whatever gives the highest payout, but basically I try to be a bit careful about what I promote as I don't want to end up unknowingly promoting something dodgy e.g. a health guide that doesn't deliver. I try to find *objective* reviews (which is often hard, since many of the 'reviews' are simply affiliate promotions). With a bit of searching, though, you can usually find info. Then, if you're happy with what you find, then you can feel happier about promoting the product.

Personally, though, I avoid many clickbank products and prefer promoting e.g. Amazon products as it's a lot easier to find out about them without necessarily owning them yourself.

      great, thanks guys.

yeah, I guy the balance between Clickbank and Amazon products is that Clickbank has a higher commission but is harder to sell than a low commission Amazon product that is more "well-known"

On that vendors sales page your referred to there are sometimes reviews that they allow you to use but if you want another persons perspective and testimonials

you could have someone else try the product. I did this with 1 Clickbank product where I had a friend use it for 10 days and actually write up a review for me.

You don't have to purchase every product to promote them either. If you show a vendor that you are serious they usually give you a review copy and from that I can write up a review based on content but not results comparing it to what I do know.

The first step I take before promoting any clickbank offers is to ask for a review copy. If they will not provide me one, and I still want to promote, I purchase it. I think it is very important to know the product before you promote.

The method that works best for me is providing a detailed review for visitors. I send traffic to a squeeze page to capture email addresses, then directing them to a blog with the reviews. I usually deliver 7-10 emails after the subscription, addressing the most common objections and then hitting home the biggest benefits of the product. Mixing videos, reports, and blog posts have worked well for conversions.
