Here is a keyword tip taken from another post,about keyword
I am confused about what one of the sentences mean- it is in red. What does the red part mean? - rank for 100 ?

~~~~
P.S: If you don't have the know how to rank for the most competitive keywords within a niche, use articles and aim for medium competition keywords.
Just make sure that they are keyword optimized and backlink to them with anchor text for their respective keywords.
The only catch is that instead of just ranking for 1 term, you will have to rank for about 100.
~~~~

instead of ranking for 1 term, you rank for 100? what do they mean?

  • It means you got to rank for 100 medium competition keywords in order to rank for the main keyword. That's what I got without reading the whole post

    100 separate articles

    LSI makes ranking the surrounding keywords help push the main keyword.

    It means dig deeper in the niche and create different articles and rank them. For instance, you have a website that gives out information on curing a disease, you can create and target home remedies for the disease. If you're still not sure what I mean, feel free to ask more questions.

        I suggest using https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

        It is highly recommend sparing a few bucks and getting a good paid software.

          thanks.

          what settings would i be typically using on that adwords tool, for basic keyword research-

          broad,
          phrase,
          negative,
          exact

          and which would be the chosen value to take:
          Local Search Volume: December
          Global Monthly Search Volume

          and if so, why is that one a better value to consider? is it more accurate? (from the above 2)

            Go with exact most of time but use all of them for different reasons and I like to use Global Monthly Search Volume

            Always use exact and local search volume. Make sure you have selected to show trends, keywords can be seasonal many times.

    If you're asking to confirm about seasonal keywords, yes, that is often the case. Keywords fall into niches and many niches are seasonal. The love/dating/marriage related keywords are about to spike with Valentines Day coming around the corner... you get the picture.
