Can anyone recommend a good script that will keep my affiliate ID from showing up in the URL bar?

Thanks

    use this create a folder for your link create an index.php file upload that file to your folder you just made with this code in the index.php
    <?php
    header("Location: http://youraffiliatelinkhere");
    ?>
    Then use http://yoursite.com/foldername-that's it
    -WD

    Edit; This will automatically redirect to your affiliate page no way to steal or alter the link no url shortener to play around with it is the best

        Your problem lies, not with the script, but with the affiliate. The link hider only hides the link from your own web page, but if it sends your prospect to http://www.sales4you.com/affiliate/?...pqw43lkoiv0u34, then that is what will show in the address bar when the customer gets to the site -- unless the affiliate store is configured differently.

        An alternative is to place them under a frame.

        I have been seeing a number of marketers use the short url to bring up an affiliate site in a frame to hide the affiliate address. I don't see any reason you can't do that from a folder in your own website. You may have to test it tho as some sites don't work inside a frame.

        Hope this helps.

    Hmm this is caused by their script not your link. I tried it in both ways with your actual link and the cloaked one. contact calvin and let him know this is happening. I also tried it with my own url shortening service same thing so it has to be on their end.

    Hi Buck,

    yeah i tried to do it through a folder and using my own url service neither was successful for this link so it is the affiliate script he is linking to which is hosted by the affiliate store.
    kind of sucks because that means their affiliates as a whole are having this issue

    It is very common, WD. The sellers are using the affiliate extension to track their customers so the affiliate gets paid. That might be important to the affiliate. lol

      Yea, but people here are probably more alert to these things than corporate programmers. The marketing staff in most corporations is probably trained in BM marketing and pass their recommendations to the programmers, neither of which are concerned about us losing sales because a shopper changes the referal ID.

      At the same time, we have a passion for success, they have a job! In one to two years, even the newbies here who follow the right path will have more time and money than them.
