What's the difference between Popularity and Gravity?

Hey all,

I know this sounds newbie ish, but I always forget the diference between Gravity and Popularity in ClickBank.

Gravity is how many different affiliates sold a copy of the product in the last 8 weeks, so what is Popularity?

Cheers,

Nick

Popularity is determined by a publisher's net sales over a recent timeframe and also rewards publishers who have many affiliates promoting them.

Gravity represents a unique calculation by ClickBank that takes into account the number of different affiliates who earned a commission by promoting this product over the past 8 weeks. Since more recent transactions are given a higher value, this number can give you an idea of what products are "hot" at the moment, in terms of being promoted by many affiliates and making a good number of sales. However, high gravity can also indicate that there will be a lot of competition in promoting this product.

That's interesting Alexa, how is that so? What's the connection?

Popularity takes into account all of the factors such as gravity, price paid to affiliate, affiliate commission %, the volume of product sold, and the % of sales reffered by affiliates
