I just set up my first autoblog. It's not exactly 100% auto, I still think I need to maintain the posts that come in. I've optimized it, and it has a lot of really good content and I'm filtering out useless content. Just started so I haven't made any money yet, but of course I'm wondering about the potential. I had a lot of fun setting this up and would love to do this on a larger scale. It would be really helpful to hear from real warriors who are making a good living autoblogging! Ideally I'd like to make 10k a month+ - who's doing this out there and what tips could you pass on to this eager learner? |

blegh, too many of these crappy blogs out there, stealing feeds and creating content from others... thats not valuable or unique. It's lazy Blogging should be fun, if you have a passion blog about that, if you hate blogging altogether I suggest not bothering. |

Agree with Jay... real blogging can create a healthy income but there is work involved that goes beyond automation.

Let's not generalize. I have a couple real blogs so I understand what you are saying but there are autoblogs that are actually quite valuable because they aggregate and compile subjects for people in one place and with a little work you can make a very nice site which provides value this way. THAT SAID..... I'd really like to steer this thread clear of being a debate about an autoblogs merits. Can we please stick with the questions posed in the OP? Thanks.. |

The better use of autbologs is usually to use them to strengthen links and SERPs of a "real" blog..in my opinion..or maybe get a few bucks per blog from adsense. Its unlikely you build an "authority site" with a simple autoblog.

However, there are ways to make an automatically updated blog (or semi-automated) with high quality content and purpose. It is even possible to autoblog with your own unique, written material. The OP even mentions doing this part of it. So, overall, the word autoblog gets a bad rap, but in truth, an 'autoblog' can be anything that is automated. Just like email marketing can be spam or double opt in email.

I have a lot of blogs that grow on auto-pilot using some of the "popular" plug-ins, and I make six figures from building micro niche blogs (which include automation). But, the way I use them may be a bit different than how most people teach auto-blogging. I've pretty much outlined the whole process on my site for free <see Step 2 in my sig - no opt-in necessary>, including some videos. /Steven
