Who wants to play a game? I call it "Why Responsibility?"

Warriors,

If you knew me personally you would know first off that I'm a people person, I'll talk your ear off regarding any topic that is brought up. If I have no clue regarding the topic I'll resort to the good ole 'smile and nod' tactic but the point is I love to interact with all kinds of people from the poor to the rich, the toddler to the senior etc... In doing so I learn what makes people tick. I believe observation of your target market is a key to success.

The second thing you would know is that I like to have fun. Life is way to short to take it so seriously, so I wanna play a game with you!

Heres the deal, I was just watching a show on a popular online site with my girlfriend and was literally CAPTIVATED by the marketing strategy of a company I am now going to study like crazy! Not because I'm interested in their product/s but because I believe their marketing strategies to be effectively brilliant.

The Game:

I copied the companies 'About' section below.

I cut the companies name out.

Can you figure out what type of company this is coming from?

-NO GOOGLING-

because the answer comes right up and defeats the purpose of stimulating your mind and playing the game in the first place

If you know the company I'm referring to after you read the text below please don't spoil it for the rest, I was pretty suprised when I found out who CAPTIVATED my attention
----------Let the games begin!--------
Why Responsibility?

What Does It Mean? Why Is It Important?

As "take a guess" company, we like responsible people. Because people who believe in doing the right thing don't just make better people, they make better customers. But the idea of responsibility can be difficult to define. What does it mean? Why is it important? These aren't questions that can be easily addressed or agreed upon. There are a lot of differing opinions and beliefs involved. And while we may never uncover any definitive answers, we believe the questions are still worth asking.
How It Began

In ":p" created a TV commercial about people doing things for strangers. The response was overwhelming. We received thousands of positive emails and letters from people all over the country commenting on the ads.
We thought, if one TV spot can get people thinking and talking about responsibility, imagine what could happen if we went a step further? So we created a series of short films, and this website, as an exploration of what it means to do the right thing.

--------end of game--------

Isn't that impacting?! I would love to start or join a group that is interested in studying this type of marketing.

So.... Who's responsible for this brilliance?

Thanks Jeremy, that was an interesting video. :-)

Of course big companies can do abstract marketing like that, I think I will stick with direct marketing for now.

Got it on the first try, but only because of the bit about the TV commercial. That was a pretty good spot.

The point of the game is to guess who created a TV commercial about people doing things for strangers.

and when I watched one of their 'ads' I was compelled to go to their site. It worked. Their marketing works. does yours?

I remember seeing those commercials and they really struck me as being kind of neat.

The funny thing is that I remember the commercial and can even picture the people in it but I didn't remember what company it was for!!! I knew the general industry but couldn't remember the exact company.

Anyway, this was also interesting because I cut out a section of the text to google and see what the darn company was and at least the top 4 results came back with the same exact block of text as above (this post was #2) thus disproving the duplicate content penalty yet again.

Jeremy, you certainly have the right to format your posts any way you
like. The only rules in this forum in regard to fonts and style refer to
        signatures only.

But I couldn't read your thread so I can't play either.

We can be as arrogant as we like when we say things like, "I am who I am"
or whatever that comment was you made.

But somewhere along the way, you're going to alienate the wrong people.

Steve, your wisdom is priceless. My motives where more on the playful side but I'm often mis-interpreted, the online community seems to be more sensitive than the off-line world and I often overlook that.My Bad , I am in the process of re-establishing that 'attitude'.

By the way Steve, I've been offline for quite awhile but used to read and implement your work, can't wait to see what you've cooked up latley!

I've just read and re-read your original post. I've read and re-read the comments from others.

End result: I've got no idea what the point of this post is.
