How to get information about IM?

Hi guys, I'm new in this forum, and yes, internet marketing too.

I have a couple of question wanted to ask, hope u don't mind:

1. IM got alot of categories? Like Web2.0, SEO, Article Marketing, and what else?

2. Is there any website giving out lesson about IM?

3. Do most of you guys study in marketing before you get into internet marketing? I just learn a little from my previous college.

I'm really looking forward to learn something from IM, and of course get profit from it.

The War Room Private Discussion Forum is a pretty good place to start, though there might be TOO MUCH information there and you may get overwhelmed.

I can't see any War Room Private Discussion Forum here.
Or perhaps, to view it, i have to join the Full Warrior Member?

Yes you will need to become a full warrior member to see the war room. There is a lot of great content there, but it is easy to become overwhelmed.

The best advice would be to choose an IM business model which you are most interested in, and focus your reading and research on this business model. Try not to skip between different models and strategies as a focused effort in one area will make you successful.

There are many models in IM, but here are the most popular:

    - Information Marketer/Publisher (creating and publishing your own products for a particular niche)

    - Affiliate Marketing (promoting other people's products - effectively you just drive traffic to offers)

    - Services Online (this has many sub-areas - but effectively offering a service to a client such as design, writing etc)

    - Services Offline (selling services to offline clients such as small businesses)

    - Website Flipping (flipping websites either by building them and then selling them, or buying existing websites and then improving them and flipping).

This is a very quick overview, and not a complete list, but gives you a few of the main areas of IM. It's also important to remember that you don't have to do all the work for the above models yourself, you can outsource much of it if you can afford to, or just outsource the things that are holding you back.

One other thing - after checking out your sig it seems you have some expertise in 3D graphics and motion - so you might be able to utilise this skill to provide services to the IM market. There is demand for high quality video and graphics in this market - so you might want to think about services you could offer to people here.

I hope this helps you - but most importantly don't get overwhelmed - you can't know everything about this niche but it's best to just get started and learn as you go rather than just trying to learn more and more (this makes you no money!)

Before you go out searching around for information, create a goal for yourself and narrow down what you're trying to accomplish with IM. There are many different routes you can take and it will come down to preference on choosing where you go.

There is a lot of FREE information out there. Focus on learning one aspect at a time otherwise you will have an overload of information.

You need to decide what your passion is in the internet marketing world, what appeals to you the most? Do some internet research into IM. I am sure you will soon find something that catches your eye or makes you feel that this is something you can become really engrossed in.

If you have a passion for something it is going to make things a whole lot more fun. IM can also be broken down into other niches such as SEO, list building, traffic generation, PPC, PPA, the list is endless. Your most important decision though is to choose something that you will enjoy doing.

In response to your last question, you dont need to study marketing formally to be good at it. I know a lot of people on here dont have formal marketing training, but marketing plays a huge role in almost every aspect of IM. You will learn A LOT about marketing as you continue in this industry...its inevitable.

And yes, having a great work ethic and passion for your work is a deadly powerful combination!
