How to Improve Youtube Rankings

HI,

From what I understand the more ratings (good ones) and comments you get on your Youtube video the better ranking you get for your keyword. Is this true?

Also, are there any other methods that people use to improve their rankings?

Thanks for the help,

Augie Johnston

Its actually pretty simple to rank high on youtube

The youtube search engine uses three basic items to initially rank your video: The title of your video
    The description of your video
The tags that you assign to your video
It can't actually read what's in the video itself so it relies on you to give it clues as to what the video is about.

The description is very important so make it relevant to your keywords.

If you need more help on this send me a pm and ill help you out.

Here's a simple trick you can try:

    - Do a google search for the main keyword you are targetting
    - Under the search bar click "show options" on the results page
    - Find the link to the "wonder wheel" on the left side
    - This tool will display related keywords which you can use in your description. Either put these at the bottom of your description or within your description if you can work them in.
    - This will spread the visibility of your video as you'll start showing up for these other keywords you might not have thought of.

You can also try just copying and pasting keywords from the main search results into the description as this can boost the number of searches you show up for. Little bit grey hat but works great if done properly.

Ensure you're also using a link in your video description in the "http://...link here" format in the first sentence to your website (I'm assuming you're linking off site) so this shows up alongside your video

I know this is a little bit of a different approach to your question, but it's a method worth thinking about rather than just ranking for a particular keyword.
