Hi folks, is anyone around here using Amazon S3, and if so what are your thoughts on it?

Would you mind if I asked a couple of questions.. How much is it costing you per month and is it a suitable solution for streaming camtasia videos?

Thanks for your help guys.

I have been using S3 for a while now (couple of years) and I love it.

I use it for delivering large files as well as streaming my videos (and audios). I sell a PLR edition of 2 of my products, which all together have over 2 GB of downloads. So far, my biggest bill was about $40, but when I am not promoting something, my average bill as about $11 per month.

Obviously, the more stuff you have on S3, and the more activity you have, that price goes up. If you are a high volume business, S3 can, in fact, get a bit pricey.

After experimenting with S3 myself, I can say that I like it. The costs are reasonable:
    • No start up fees, no minimum charge
    • $0.15 per GB for each month of storage
    • $0.20 per GB of data transferred
