Ezine Articles Alternate Author Name Question

I am working on some mini-sites and doing article marketing for them. I was thinking it may be a good idea to submit some of these under a pen name, especially since I run an authority site and generally submit articles related to that site under my name.

I see in my EA account where I can create different author names. Will this show the "pen name" so to speak as the "Ezine Articles" expert? So that if someone clicked on that author name, they'd only see the articles I submitted under that pen name?

Sorry for the noobish question, the EZ page didn't really explain it well.

If someone clicked on the author, they only see THAT pen name. I have several pen names, never been a problem. When you go to submit new articles, remember to choose the appropriate pen name for the article.

As Robin said, the alternate authors work great.

I currently use 3 alternates, 2 for niches I play in, and 1 for my wife's affiliate business. (Still don't understand why it is her business when I do all the work. Ah, now I remember! She comes up with the ideas for it.)

Just remember to not get playful with your pen names. Don't use words related to your niche as any part of your name. EA is a bit finicky about that sort of thing.

I did e-mail ezinearticles last week about a pen name limit. They told me one account can only have 50 pen names. So if you plan to write with only under 50 different pen names it is allowed.

I'll keep that in mind jf... I was really just planning to go through a baby names book and pick out some first names I like :p

Though it's funny EA doesn't like it... I mean all the radio weathermen and traffic announcers do things like that.

It's also a good idea to spend the time creating a good bio with a picture for each of the pen names you create. Your readers will then be able to relate more personally with the content you attach to that pen name.

I have a pen name for each niche I write articles in, and yes, I create a short biography, including photo, for each. People like to look at this, for some strange reason it gives them confidence in you. Personally, I look at the quality of the writing to see if I find the person believable. One nice thing, if you use pen names, you only have to qualify as an Expert Author one time, then all articles from any of your pen names are treated as if written by the original Expert Author by Ezines for publishing purposes. Readers will only see the pen name and photo, bio, and other articles written under the pen name. It has worked really well for me.

Pen names work well, to me, it's a preferable set up to having multiple accounts over at EZA....which is what I have.

I've never added a photo to my pen names there, interesting to see if that would help click through rates.

I also use multiple pen names for each niche being promoted. Haven't added any pics and that may help clickthrough rates. Sounds like time to run another test...
