Building Your First List?? Struggling With List Building?? Take This Advice.....

Hi Warriors,

Ok, thought I would throw out some quick advice for listbuilders out there on this Monday Morning in the UK, in whatever niche you are tapping into!

Having built lists in a few different niches myself over the past 3 years, from both within the MMO and IM niche, to niches that have nothing to do with making money online, there is one thing that is plainly obvious and WILL KILL your list right from the start!

**YOUR OPENING OFFER**

I cannot emphasize how important your opening offer is when it comes to listbuilding!

**YOU NEED TO OVERDELIVER**

I see so many squeeze pages out there promising some super cool techniques or tips in return for a name and email address.

The standard thing!

But, many don't even half deliver on what they promise! This is a big NO NO!

You see, building a list is all about building relationships with your customers, or potential customers. The better this relationship, the better your list and the more money you can potentially make!

Let me compare it to a love relationship! ; )

You make the wrong first impression with a new girl or guy you meet, the relationship goes NOWHERE!

Same with listbuilding!

You put out a half assed free report or offer (BAD First Impression) and your relationship goes NOWHERE. The only thing going up is the UNSUBSCRIBE RATE! ; )

I have unsubscribed from many lists because the report or free offer I recieved was half assed. And the ones I miss or forget to unsubscribe from, their emails don't get opened!

I always think, if the first report or offer was bad, then how can I expect anything better from further emails!

I am sure I am not alone out there with this!!!!!!!!!!

So,

If you are building your first list or struggling to make money from your current list, take a look at your initial offer, is it half assed? Can it be better?

I have given away entire products that have taken me weeks to build for FREE! These lists are most responsive, I wonder why??

Now Go Get 'Em Peeps!

What I have heard is give away your best content the content that just kills you to give it away for free. Why? Because its your best and people are going to see that and recognize it leaving a lasting impression on them.

    I like this comparison

Accent is on both: give what you promissed, and overdeliver

    What i feel is

Do not try to give the best product available in the market or a costlier one. But give away a product that does what you say exactly in the squeeze page.

It may be a two page report, but make sure it does what you said about it in the squeeze page.

I always look at any free gift I am giving away and see if it is still relevant and if it works. I still cant believe the number of marketers that give away free reports that have spelling mistakes in them.

I am not that good at spelling that's why I check my postings and reports and emails and run a spell checker over them before I send or post. Don't just give something away because you got it for free. Read through it and make sure it does what you are saying it will do.

You are SO right on target, GoGetta! Giving away (or selling) crap is just wrong. It turns away potential customers and gives you a crappy reputation to boot.

I also ask myself if I would buy or read my own report or ebook. If my honest answer is no, then I'll edit and revise until the report pleases me and hopefully, potential customers.
