You know, there are other email providers you can use that won't be as intrusive or bossy as Google is.

I've had the "cannot access google search engine at this time", also had google access issues from the "24 hr wait because of changing password".

I have never had anything like this happen to my gmail account.

By the way. Don't you mean email mssg?

    Regards,
    James

google does that if they detect suspicious activity like you are sending 200 emails a day from the same account or if they detect suspicious activity from the same IP address

There are many automatic bots out there that creates thousands of gmail accounts each day. I think may be Google thought yours as one of those and asked your for verification. They have started doing the same when signing up.

I have never had this done to me ,neither have I heard of anyone who has encountered this problem. Be very careful of "phishing e-mails" whos sole purpose is to collect private information from you. The e-mail may claim that your account has been disabled so you need to go to a certain link to put in your information in order for the account to be reactivated. Before you do anything, test your account. Do not try to access it through the link provided.

Watch out for such e-mails,supposedly from your bank too. There is a lot of sophisticated crime out there.

Not quite the same thing, but for awhile there, I could not get access to my Google account, not for Gmail or anything else. It kept giving me an incorrect login error. After getting a new login from them several times, I still kept getting a login error. Finally, they told me I had to use my Gmail email for my account login. Finally it works - so far so good.

But It refused to let me create a login using my real email address.

Don't have any idea what that was all about... especially since I don't even use my Gmail account.

So maybe something weird like that happened to you.

      Just a guess.

Yeah, I am not sure but after reading that article it kind of freaked me out. The story you relate is pretty much what happened to me. I made sure I changed my PW ASAP.

Same thing just happened to me.

For immediate assistance, enter your mobile phone number below and we'll send you a text message with a verification code.

I've been using this account for link building etc for a while. Nothing out of the ordinary. I had just sent an email to someone on craigslist thru that account requesting info on something they had for sale. Logged off and then went back in about 5 minutes later and my acct was disabled.

I gave them my cell, got the text message with code and now I'm back in. Very strange, upsets me a little to think Google has so much control.
