Autorize.net vs. Paypal
I'm searched through the form, but I couldn't find the answers I was seeking. If I missed it, please someone point me to the right direction.
First of all, I'll admit, I just don't get this payment gateway and payment processor stuff. For whatever reason, it just doesn't click in my brain and I've read HUNDREDS of articles about it. But that's not my question.
I know I need both a gateway and processor (again, not sure what each does) and I'm currently using Authorize.net . I have nothing bad to say about them, I've had no issues with them.
But, I'm cutting out expenses throughout my business and was told to look at the Paypal option. I was told I could just use Paypal and eliminate the expense of Auth all together. Sure, each transaction may cost a bit more, but you only pay when you sell something. (unlike Auth where you pay monthly regardless and then also have a transaction fee on top of that)
I use KickStartCart (1shoppingcart) as my shopping cart. I currently have it set up to give people the option of using Paypal instead of their credit card as well. So, there shouldn't be any issues with set up (or take down) at least I don't think there will be.
My question is, what is your opinion on eliminating Authorize.net altogether and just go with Paypal? Good/Bad? Why?
