Getting RSS Feed to Point to Domain, Not Post

I am just starting to get into using RSS feeds to my advantage, but when checking all of my websites (all using wordpress), the feeds are pointing to (example).(com)/post-name/ . I want it to point to just (example).(com)/ but I can figure out how to change it for the life of me. Is it possible to change this? It just seems to be pretty useless since I am not sending traffic directly to the actual post page and have done about 0% SEO for it.

Also, as a side note, since I'm using wordpress, both of those pages have the exact same content, which gets into the whole duplicate content issue. Is there a way around this, besides making the main page just a summary of the actual post, because I don't want to make visitors have to click to "read more".

That's the way RSS feeds are supposed to work - they link to your latest published content.

Thanks for the input. I knew that, but I also wanted to know if there was a way to get a feed directed to just the domain, so when I update it (which I do regularly) and do my rss submissions, it links back to just the domain, not the actual post link, even though they are the same.

Well, you'd just have to program Wordpress to generate the RSS feed with a link to your homepage.

That's what I'm trying to figure out how to do.

You need to upgrade and then in your hosting you can add the RSS feed script otherwise it will not work.

You should just use the normal home page link and promote that. An RSS feed is a list of posts on a site, not a link to a home page. You are trying to do something that is different than what it is supposed to be.

hi, this is exactly my problem . feed out of blog into twitterfeed, out to FB and Twitter--but posts contain their original url--not url of my blog--therefore if anyone clicks in FB/Twitter then they go to original article not to my blog--meaning I lose a lot of traffic.

      Anyone have any ideas?

Surely its not going to do your blog any harm and won't matter if it reads the link back to your post and not your main URL, it will be a deeper link.
