Warriors, anybody is getting unusual number of follows on your twitter account?

Hey Warriors,

Just curious, are you getting an unusual number of follows everyday?

I'm getting about almost 50 per day, is it unusual?

Cuz it's really irritating to try to follow them back...

Any solutions?

Regards,
Darren

Are you on one of those lists where everyone follows each other?

    Sometimes Twitter goes in spurts.

From my experience, 50 per day isn't unusual. Unfortunately, too often those spurts turn out to be spammers and will be gone once Twitter catches wind of them. Not that it matters anyway, as the spammers won't have been interested in you anyway. It's just disappointing sometimes to see a couple hundred followers vanish overnight.

There's also a snowball effect that happens. The more followers you get, the more people will begin following you.

Especially if you follow back those that follow you.

Some people do put together lists of people like that; you don't even have to sign up to be on one. If people recognize that you do that, they'll add you to such lists.

You might get more followers if you follow someone who's popular in an area. People may follow their followers to build their own following within a niche, so you could be getting some from that. Most of the time you won't know this is happening. But, sometimes that popular person may be mentioned somewhere, and then you'll see your own followers starting to go up as you get a trickle-down effect.

You might also get an uptick in followers if something you tweeted ended up retweeted a lot or by someone popular. Likewise if someone added you to their list.

Unless you've recently been doing activities to build your own following, a lot of times the big spurts like that are caused by Twitter spammers. If not, it's your lucky day!

Ahh. An old issue. Welcome to Twitter. As for me I usually have around 20 followers a day. But I heard some people were bombarded by 150-200 spammers a day. I just delete them from my profile once a week.

I got a very large number in the last 24 hours since I made a few posts here, so I thought they were spammers. On investigation they seem to be real profiles, but as I don't auto-follow and use it properly it doesn't really bother me.
