Tackling a big problem in writing a report

So yesterday and today, I was busy editing my report. I developed an outline, wrote content and then ..... I hit a big snag. The report included tips for handling stress and anxiety, but didn't hang together very well. Its problem?

It needed a stronger focus.

Originally, I envisioned a focus in which all of the tips pertained to overcoming stress and anxiety when bad news, such as an overdue notice, arrives in the mail. I had experience with similar situations and gradually learned how to deal with it and wanted to help others avoid my mistakes.

What happened was that after the first seven pages, I began to lose focus. After mentioning what could be initially done to reduce anxiety, I included a list of random tips for combating that problem that were based on my experience.

To get around that block, some reconfiguring will be necessary. Perhaps just focusing on one aspect will do the trick. I'm just afraid that doing this will take forever to complete.

As a potential customer, I feel that I would not be ready to buy this report just yet.
