O.K. I'd like to hear some theories about being able to consistently rank within the top 5 organic search results in Google for the the Keyword phrase "Internet Business" Currently and for at least the last 12 months or so Frank Black, Terry Dean and that sparkplugging site have all been ranking in Google for the keyword phrase "Internet Business" and all have ben in the top 5 results... Now one commonality for the top 3 or so is that they are all blogs... Although what is surprising is that Frank Blacks blog is NOT a WordPress blog I think it is a either a Drupal, Joomal or maybe even a movable type blog...So there goes the theory that Word Press will always rank better. There is one surprise in the results though...I think it is the sixth result appears to be a stone evans affilliate PIP site... WTF? Ranking for "Internet Business"? There is nothing specific or obvious that would make the sites rank better than the other for the highly competitive keyword phrase "Internet Business" and I am confused... Is it Traffic to the site?...Is it user participation in the form of comments to the site? Does it really have anything to do with on-site optimization? Is it the age of the site and domain and the number of pages indexed? The nice thing though is that I think from a subjective point of view is that Terry Dean and Frank Black rank right where they should for the keyword "phrase "internet business" Both have awesome blogs with great content...What Really confuses me is that a Stone Evans PIP Affilliate site is even on the first page of Google for the same keyword phrase... Just when you think Google might make a little sense it then it gets all wonky again with no rhyme or reason.... Does anyone have any ideas how to rank really well for the keyword phrase "Internet Business" like Frank Black and Terry Dean? Thanks Gavin |

Factor in some time to the equation and you have your recipe for a high authority site. | |

I think a lot of blogs are awesome and have great content...My personal favorite is Jon Leger...Although he apparently does not target the keyword phrase "Internet Business" (maybe he does?...I don't know?) because he would be on the first page if he did,.. following the "great content" logic... "great content" and "awesome blog" is subjective...Google's algos are machine driven or program driven and can not really operate in the realm of subjectivity...There has to be some objective reasons why the results display the way they do. I truly think there is something else at play (objective wise) with some of those sites that appear on the first page of the organic Google search results for the competitive keyword phrase "Internet Business"....Look at the results yourself and tell me that at least half of the results don't have you scratching your head in confusion.... Is it all just backlinks? Quality "authority site" driven backlinks? If so how does Twitter Retweets play in this theory? Do Twitter RTS and back links offer any backlinking benefit? I guess the same can be asked about Facebook as well? Gavin |
