How do I "test" my Sales page?

I'm going to try and write this as calmly as possibly, but I'm so angry right now. I'm (stupidly) still trying to get this so called "guru" to hold up his end of the deal and mail out his list about the product he told me to create. Every time he replies he comes back with a new excuse or reason on why he's not mailing out.

This week, it's asking me if I have tested and tweaked my sales page because his JV partners won't promote anything that doesn't convert.

Now, the whole point of me signing up with him and forking over that money was because I was told I didn't need to worry about any of that, that there were all these lists that would be used to promote it and get me well on my way. That they were specifically looking for newbies (to rip off) that they could teach and mould, people with nothing that they would turn into hundred's of thousands of dollars, blah blah blah...

What does he mean by testing and tweaking my sales page? He told he looked over it and it looked good. (although I'm thinking he didn't look over it)

I figure this means he wants you to run some adwords traffic through it too see if anything sticks. Looks like you might have to put up a couple hundred more dollars in PPC ads to see if you get some sales - be sure to track these sales as well. You can use google analytics for this fairly easily.

If you're selling on clickbank there is built in analitics you can use.

Perhaps also look into using something like clicktale to see the viewer heat maps to ensure that traffic is going through the entire sales page as well. With the paid membership you can actually download the movie clips of visitors to see how they are navigating the site.

And that's really all you can do on your end I think - sadly it means spending a bit moer time and money but if things are going well you should make some money with it.

I know it's frustrating but in the end this testing is going to help you becaue the last thing you want is for all these big names to mail their lists, have like 100,000 people come to the site and make zero sales, ya know? At least with throwing some ad words traffic to the site you can see if it will in fact makes sales - because then when you get a flood of traffic you'll be sure to make money.

If after providing this guy with that data (which hopefully is positive) and he still gives you the run around, then perhaps he's not as "cool" as he made him self out to be.

    Hope this helps

Add an .HTACCESS entry that sends half the traffic to one sales page and half to the other. When you have an obvious winner, delete the loser and write a new one and try to beat the winner. NEVER stop testing the landing page.

    Yes.

Use google optimizer to test your sales page. Keep track of the sales and conversion rate so you can relay this data.
