Some people want to jump into "Niche Market Research" and "Keyword Research" without first defining what business market they want to enter that they know will have a higher chance of succeeding for them.
The idea of owning ones business for some people is a more emotional subjective almost romantic notion. They get caught up in what they think will make them the most money without first really digging into what will make them happy....When you are happy with what you are doing, I mean if it really juices it will NEVER be work for you.
So with this post I want to get back to basics and then build from that basic foundation...

The Essence of Business, a Refresher
•The purchase and sale of goods in an attempt to make a profit.
•The activity of providing goods and services involving financial and commercial and industrial aspects
•The principal activity in your life that you do to earn money

For Our Purpose Here:
A "Real Business" starts with YOU creating truly marketable, competitive and profitable values which people would willingly exchange money to attain the values you create to fulfill their specific needs or wants.
Now that you got the basic idea of what the basic essence of business is what business should you be in? Here are some things to ponder:

•What are you passionate about?
•When You were a child what did you love doing?
•Successfully defining your current true passion today usually is related to what you loved doing as a child.
•Turning this passion and what you loved doing as a child into a profitable, marketable, value driven business is key to have long term success, which keeps you excited and motivated.
•Whatever fun and productive thing you currently do on a Friday night may point to a "passion" that can potentially turn into a value driven, marketable and profitable business that you are passionate about....
•Known as your "Friday Night Essence" as defined by the Neo-Tech publishing company www.Neo-Tech.com

Quite simply your "Friday Night Essence" is what you find yourself naturally doing out of pure enjoyment and excitement on a "Friday Night" usually after the dreadful and traditional 9 to 5 grind....

It's NOT happy hour at a bar....It's NOT catching up on some sleep. It's doing what you love to do which exhilarates you, which juices you, which motivates you.

Your "Friday Night Essence" is usually related to that which you loved to do as a small child, before life sucked the innocence out of you. You may have to think back real hard to remember being the small innocent child and just loving to play. That's right. Your Friday Night Essence is you playing...but now you are an adult but it is still playing...Just playing as an adult.

O.K. so the point is how does this relate to building a business from scratch? Discovering your Friday Night essence is one of the first steps. Being able to tap into your Friday Night Essence and then figuring out a way to turn it into a way to generate business values for profit will be the most successful business you can have for YOU the individual....Get it?

So discover your Friday Night Essence and then figure out how you can translate it into a profitable business...If you do you will have the foundation of a long, successful and exhilarating business that you will always love...Running such a business will be play time for you....

O.K. maybe now you have the perfect idea, for you individually, for a business that you can start and keep you excited...Now the next step is to see if it is a viable idea that will have enough demand in the marketplace. Just because you think your idea is the greatest thing since sliced bread you still have to be logical about it and recognize that you might be the only one who thinks your idea is great. You have to dig into the nitty gritty details and do some market research...

For your internet business you need to remember this...
"Market Niche" research and actual "Keyword" research are two separate things, yet the processes may be similar...

There are numerous ways to do some quick niche market research and I go over a fairly detailed methods at my blog that have worked for me. But I recognize that sometimes just coming up with an idea for a product to market is sometime the toughest part.

FREE niche Market Brainstorming research tools (NO AFFILIATE LINKS HERE...)

Hot Sellers on eBay: eBay Pulse: trends, hot picks, cool stuff and popular searches on eBay.com
Trends on Google: Google Trends: Jan 19, 2010
Google Keyword suggestion tool: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
Free Demographics tool: http://adlab.msn.com/Online-Commerci...n/Default.aspx
Microsoft Adcenter labs Keyword research tools: Keyword Research: Microsoft adCenter Labs
Other Microsoft adcenter labs marketing research tools: All Tools: Microsoft adCenter Labs
SEO Book keyword suggestion tool: Seo Book Keyword Suggestion Tool

Also just "Spy" on what other people are doing...Success leaves clues. Check out Commision Junction, ClickBank.com, and Amazon.com and find the top selling niche markets at each site.

Track consistently Running PPC ads in Google...What? Yes pay attention to the right hand side of Googles search results when you input the main keyword for your business idea. If over a 60 day period you CONSISTENTLY see certain ads for the same specific website in the top 10 PPC adwords results in the right hand side of the Google Serarch results chances are that product may give you an idea of not only what product may be successful but what actual PPC ads consistently convert well.

FREE market research methods and FREE market research tools are good and work really well. The only thing FREE tools do less of is "automation"...
Free Tools require more time and effort to get the results and information you want. That is why I also recommend some paid tools that increase the automation process and extract more precise information in a quicker and more powerful way.

Yes I occasionally recommend paid tools but NOT often...Yes I recommend them because they are good not in high use and if they have an affiliate program attached to it then that just gravy...Yes I will give you an affiliate link if you ask and yes I will get paid from that affiliate link if you buy from my link

The first recommended paid tool is an automated "niche market" research tool that automatically finds highly profitable under exploited niches by partly extracting and automatically doing some trend analysis from Google trends. You can find this paid tool at the below website.

(PM me if you are interested I don't want to give any private stash links here with affilliate links)

You can use the recommended tool to find ideas for highly profitable, underexploited, in-demand products and services. Just find something using this tool that you know excites you and that you will like creating, marketing or just doing...get it?

Remember, long term success in any business you choose to enter first starts with you truly loving what you are doing...If you don't love what you are doing then all you are doing is trading your J-O-B for another J-O-B but now you will be taking all the risk and financial responsibility of making it produce...

I hope you can see the importance on getting clear of defining a niche that you know that you will be passionate about...

I hope this post helps you

Ah, yes, THANK YOU of being one of the few who are willing to stress that importance of striking the balance between passion and profitability. The popular advice to new marketers is to forget their passions and just go for whatever the hungry crowd wants.

This is sound in theory, but it ignores the "keep going" factor. Even if you find your hungry crowd and find the perfect hamburger to stuff down their insatiable gobs, making it really profitable still requires patience, stamina and hard graft, and the simple fact is that the Give Up rate is going to be greater amongst those who actually don't care for hamburgers. (This is an authentic statistic that I just made up, but hey - it stands to reason!!)

They have nothing to sustain them through the inevitable "what the hell am I doing here?" periods that every marketer experiences sooner or later.

Even if they are making money, sooner later some little voice inside them is going to moan something like "Why can't I sell duck a l'orange? I LOVE duck a l'orange!"

So what if it takes a little more time to find a profitable niche that we would secretly love to pursue even if we didn't make a dime .... isn't it WORTH the extra effort??

As the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers once said:

"Dope will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no dope."

QUICK DISCLAIMER: I am not advocating drug use here folks! Just subsititute "the chance to pursue your drooling obsession" for "dope".

Thanks Kenboss... I have run the gambit of being up and down and jumping on the latest greatest money maker for many moons... I did not have any real success until I did some true self reflection and tapped into my passions...

        Thanks again

Yup - job satisfaction :p is just as important here as anywhere - otherwise we've just trading one drudgery for another.
