PR5 domain I wanna sell

I have a PR5 domain I need to sell (gold buying related, and I don't mean wow gold) as it's not a niche I have the patience to mess with.

Curious how I go about getting offers and what I do about transfering it? I've also heard it loses PR after a transfer? Do I just change nameservers for them or what? Thanks for any help.

If you are selling a domain name then it is just a domain name ... PR means nothing and especially if you have no site and just a domain name. A domain name is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it ..

So there's no way to really "SELL" A DOMAIN and keep it's PR?

The only one that cares about PR is those that fall for all the marketing myths that run around... PR mean nothing.. A PR0 can outrank a PR8 site easily any day of the week.. It is also possible for that PR0 to have 1,000 unique visits a day while the PR8 has 50 unique a day.

Seriuously if you want to sell the site then sell it based on what income it generates and not try to sell it on some mythical page rank number...

Interesting.. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought if the domain is PR5, then the subsequent (similar niched) pages created off of that domain are going to rank higher and get indexed quicker. If not then why do we use article sites with high pr? Ezinearticles is totally not worth the hassle if I can post an un-moderated article that's approved immediately at some pr0 or pr1 site... It's gotta matter.. lol

But more and more I'm starting to find there a crap load of SEO myths!

Yes there are a crap load of SEO myths ... Get ready here is another one - Keyword Density is a myth .. OMG!! I said it .. Keywords matter, yes but density does not..

            Anyways back to the point...

People submit to high PR sites because they are told to and many want to follow the crowd. Ezine has traffic who cares what their PR is I can out rank them and I do on many keywords.

EZA to "me" is worthless but that is just my opinion, they do have traffic though and that traffic is what matters and not the PR.

What matters is backlinks when it comes to rankings and not PR.. Sure some so-called high PR can rank you good in "google" (there are many more search engines) but that ranking will not stay if someone with the same keywords starts building backlinks.

With that said some keywords may require only a few backlinks while other may require thousands but point is backlinks is what ranks you...

The pages within a domain will not always feed from the main page. Many sites are a so-called PR5 and all the inner pages a PR0.. This is due to the lack of backlinks going to those inner pages.

Bottom line be careful who you listen to and go out and test things for yourself..

Hey man, thanks for all the wisdom. I'd seen some videos by Matt Cutt at Google and a lot of what he said either contradicted myths or destroyed them. It's almost like you have to train your brain to start over on seo..

Is there a difference? lol, how do I sell the entire website?? It's a wordpress blog and they can have the entire thing. And actually it's two domain names that are pr5 each.. I'd forgotten that - fail..

Thanks for the information as well!

I must go through some of your posts, perhaps I can find some more details on how to rank good in search engines.

A valid PR5 domain is worth something irrespective whether it has SEO properties or not. I don't want to get into any argument about SEO benefits but there are lots of interested buyers out there for a valid PR5 domain. Just list it in Digital Point and you will sell it for $100-250 quickly.

It may be worth more if it is a premium name or in high value niche such as gambling and credit cards. A domain does not lose PR on its transfer.

Sorry for going a bit of topic in my previous post.

I will just add that I would not sell a PR5 blog or two PR5 blogs (which I assume have a lot of content or pages on it and are getting decent traffic) for $100-200 as derekwong28 said, because I think this is worth a lot more.

If you have got a website or blog under the domain, it will be worth more. The selling price would take into the actual revenue you are earning per month in addition to the PR.

As far as the gold domain is concerned, I suggest that you list it for $200 and set a BIN at either $400 or $500. You can always drop the price if there are no offers but I would not let it go below $150. People are prepare to pay higher prices since PR had just updated.

My first domain flip was a PR5

I purchased it for about $350. It had little content, no income but lots of backlinks.

It immediately dropped to PR4 on changing registrars.

I whacked some articlesbase content and some adsense, it made $10 / month.

I sold it on for $500.

After changing registrars again it changed back to PR5.

The purpose of this post is to give you an idea of what a PR5 might be worth, and also set the customers expectation beforehand that the PR may change on transfer.

If you want to sell it, sell it with the site on Flippa. Digital Point is crap and you will get crap offers for it. People on Flippa do value Pagerank, but Pagerank is useless without the site content. A domain without the content won't keep the pagerank very long.

Thanks for all the competing viewpoints. lol..

I went ahead and put it up for auction... we'll see I guess.
      • I can't post the domain name on here as I don't have the 15 or greater posts.
      • I can't respond via private message as I don't have enough posts.
      • I can't post my email.

            Thanks,

Just checked, and you are totally reliant on one website (ron-paul . us) for that PR5, which it self doesn't have a PR5 homepage (?) so its a risk PR5 to purchase.

The one I got had about 2000 backlink from all kinds of places, with completely different sites contributing towards the PR.

You making much money as a BullionVault affiliate?
