Newbish girly needs help!

I'm a student for the winter in Michigan. I'm looking for a way to make some extra cash in a hurry. Can anyone help show me how to set something up? I have nothing but time in the evenings to learn and make something work. I have tuition coming up and sad to say my grades are not high enough to keep on financial aid. I do have a part time job at subway so I have a little bit of money I can spend each week. Please help!

thank you
jess (:

    Hey jessica,
Just start your IM career with article writing, as it does not cost you even a dime to start.
If you are good many people will hire you to write for them. Later on you can use your skill in exploring other part of IM.
But if you want to start with scratch then article marketing and/or affiliate marketing are my suggestions.
clickbank, amazon, paydotcom are the websites where you can find products for affiliate marketing.

That is a great piece of advice Bruce, If you can write you should offer your services here at the Warrior forum. You should take a look at Warriors for hire and see what other Warriors are offering for services and pricing...

Do you have any other strengths you can think of to outsource, my friend does a bit of graphic design, so he can do this on the side...

Plus have you thought of posting peoples profiles with their backlinking systems... (If you need advice on what backlinking is just pm and I will give you some advice)

      I hope this helps...

There is a bit to learn with online marketing, but if you research and take action on what you learn..you could be earning pretty quickly.

Do an search for affiliate marketing...That will be your best place to start.

here is a VERY basic rundown of so you know what you'd be getting into:

      1 - Find a niche

Check out some forums, usergroups, and places like yahoo answers. See what kind of questions people are asking. Look for popular topics. Also checkout amazon, ebaay, https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

      2 - keyword research

Use the above tools and tools like freekeywords.wordtracker.com/ to find what kind of key words people are searching for.

      3 - Get a web hosting account.

They are pretty cheap. Around 10 bucks a month for a good one. Stay away for free web hosts. They are not worth it. I strongly recommend hostgator.com. You can host unlimited domains there, and there price is under $10 a month. If money is an issue, do a search for "hostgator coupons" enter the code when you signup and the first month is only 1 penny. You also could set up a blog at blogger.com for free...

4 - Find or create your product

You can write your own info product or you can go to clickbank.com and chose a product for there. You will get a commission for each sale. If you are just starting out, I would strongly suggest using click bank. Unless you are a very go writer and have a lot of time on your hands, it's the easiest way to start.

      5 - Create your site

Now you will want to create a content site. This only needs to be a few pages. You will want to put 10 articles on the site. Make good use of the keywords you researched. Also put out product on the site.

6 - Set up an auto responder

This is optional if you REALLY don't have the money, but it's something you will need to do eventually. This will collect peoples emails on your website. You write a small report (you can base it off of your articles to save time) Have your visitors sign up to get the free report. Make sure you include a link to you product in the report. You can get a good free auto responder @ Email Marketing Software, Autoresponder - GetResponse

      7 - Marketing
Remember those forums you looked up to find a good niche. You should start posting (not spamming) on them. Help people out, become an "expert" in your niche. You don't really have to be an expert...but you should look like one. Share and help as many people as you can. Include a link you your site in you signature. Also places like yahoo answers. You can answer peoples questions and include a link in your resource box.

You will also want to submit articles to article directories such as EzineArticles.com.

Another good marketing tip is to exchange links with site in the same niche as you.

There are a lot of different marketing techniques you can use (too many to go into here, but this should get you started) Just search around the forums here.

      8 - Repeat

Do this with several different niches. The more sites you have going, the more money you have coming in.

These are just some basic steps to get you started. I could go into serious depth on each point...but this is a good launch ground.

Hi Jessica and welcome to the Forum!

On the WSO and Classified section you'll find offers that other Warriors have for sale. Some of them are excellent bargains, but as a beginner you need to exercise good judgment before spending a lot of money.

The most common failing for beginners is to get overwhelmed by the myriad of methods of making money on the Internet. What you really need to do at this stage of your career is to determine what method would suit your skill set and your interests, and then apply yourself to that. Don't get distracted by every offer that comes into your mailbox, just focus on your original game plan.

What are your strengths - and what are your weaknesses? If writing isn't one of them then you can either work on it or choose to hire copywriters who are experts in their field.

Do you have technical strengths and abilities? If you do then i suggest you familiarize yourself with WordPress, by far the easiest way to put up a website. If you aren't a technical person then that is something you will want to farm out as well.

Perhaps you would be good at making videos, either screencasts using products like Camtasia Studio or Cam Studio, or videos with your camcorder or an inexpensive Flip camera. You could use these videos to market affiliate products, or once you become proficient at making them you could post your own WSO and sell your services to others.

If there is a subject or cause that you are passionate about then focus on that and create a niche site - you could sell affiliate products or create your own product.

Explore the forum, a great place to start is with the "All in One" treads that have been assembled to condense information about key topics into one convenient reference.

Learn what you can and take action! If you fail learn from your mistakes. Ask questions and participate in threads - this is a wonderful community of people who are only too happy to help if you are sincere and if you contribute as well.

I wish you all the best in your online endeavors - now get out there and DO IT. You can build yourself a skill that can last you a lifetime and offer you unlimited opportunities.

I beg to differ. Your posts on this page demonstrate excellent spelling, English syntax, and punctuation. Those qualities alone put you above most "writers" on the Internet.

Besides, you will be writing informative articles .... not literary pieces.

Well, your grammar is good enough. That's all you need to be a writer. Look up some existing articles for a given keyword and rewrite it in your words.

Article writing is a way for a brand new newbie to start out on. You can write content for people and you will get an idea of what niches people are targetting and somewhere along the way you will get inspired enough to dive in.

The problem here is that even though spelling and syntax may be good, confidence may not and just telling someone to write an article is not really helpful.

What sort of article? How long? On what subject?

Those of us who have been around here for a while will understand, but someone completely new will not have a clue!

    Hi Jessicak,

Go for an automated money making system. Set it once and let it run live 24/7 365 days. You will make a lot of sales from it.

Let me know if you have any questions.

So, you want to sell me another way to easily make "X" dollars in "X" days? ROFL too funny! IM success requires hard work and lots of time. Most newbies do not survive the steep learning curve. Anyone who says otherwise is probably selling you a fantasy.

You can find all the free information you need on this forum to learn the ropes. No need to buy any learning product just yet.

But first off you need to ask yourself why you are here? Not just an answer of 'I need money'. Everyone needs money. But why Internet Marketing as your avenue towards that money?

You mention that you are not good at writing. That is fine. What ARE you good at? You need to narrow down what you can do already and then use that as your starting point. If you say you are not good, or don't care about anything related about Internet Marketing, then we go back to the previous question, why are you here.

Providing services is the quickest way to make income. The most popular services are writing, site building, link building, and social account creations.

There is no quick and easy money in internet marketing as all the 'headlines" will tell you when you first start out (there are rare exceptions). So kick off your shoes, roll up your sleeves and get to work.

    Hi Jessy

    Welcome

The best thing while you're just starting and short in cash is to do the following:

-Find out what you can do best, there' re more skills than you can imagine needed in this business, try to figure out what are your best interests

-Try to partner up with someone looking for help in what you can do
you maybe able to write, process technical tasks, build links...etc

you can learn any of these skills, you may think now I am new and can't do anything effectively, however, you can learn, the point is, to find something you can learn quickly and you are interested in.

Many established marketers are short in time and look for help, if you can offer it you can earn flat fees or partner for a profit share..

You may find this huge and way out of your reach now, but it's easier than what you think, just try to manage one of the time consuming skills and offer your services, this will definitely get you a room in the market

Task that you may consider and don't need much skills, just good grasp and you go:

    -Backlinking
    -Bookmarking
    -Article submission
    -Directory submission
    -research

    and the list goes on

    I wish this helps

If I could just add a small point with a close reference to article marketing.

You might want to try the same with videos by using windows movie maker. Get something funny or interesting posted online and add your affiliate links to that.

    Hi Jess,

    mmmm ok... no clue, hum?

the basic story is simple: you need something for sale, someone wanting to buy it and you get money on the transaction.

Now, the way those 3 elements are chosen and managed will lead to the different business models in internet marketing.

the 2 easier models are: affiliate marketing and adsense. As you don't need a product of your own, continuity or a big investment.

here is a blog setup for a challenge, I go there from time to time as it is very clear and to the point (my tech gal did it for someone else, pretty cool):

    IM Journal

have a look at it from bottom to top.

it goes over niche identification, keyword research, product selection, strategy and action.

Don't worry about the automation part, you can do it by hand once in a lifetime.

I think it will give you some ideas and tons of more questions, keep them coming!

    Hi Jess

I agree it can be pretty overwhelming deciding what direction to take with all that information out there.

I believe everyone has something of value to offer. What is it that your studying? You could share your knowledge with others online. Start your own blog, discuss what your studying, collaborate with other students etc. Then, you could hand pick related quality affiliate products to promote on your blog.

One of the best skills I have acquired from studying is how to research. Your doing this every day. Take advantage of that skill. Maybe you can offer your services as a researcher to marketers on this forum or on sites like Elance and Guru.

Hope this gives you some food for thought.

I've always found the fastest traffic is pay per click but if you don't know anything about it, it can take you some time to learn.

If you can write well, I'd say do some keyword research, sign up for an affiliate program in a niche that you know and then submit some articles to ArticleBase, EzineArticles, or GoArticles.

It is not easy to make money fast on the internet, I will say that.

    hi jess,

money making online is not easy...its just needs time and work like real business, it will take time by time..there are some training online on how to do money making, it will still require determination and work to build up an online money making business..

Yeah...Marc's post above looks to be on the money. However, there are no quick ways. Learn, plan and act. Action is the most important step to take. You may not get it right the first or even the second time, but as long as you learn along the way, you will eventually start making bucks...and in realtime, it may not be that long down the road.
