For Multiple Blog Builders... How Long Does It Take

For Multiple Blog Builders . . . How long does it take you to complete a new site, start to first traffic?

I've seen a few free courses in the Warrior Forum that indicate we can do all these tasks, start to finish in 1-2 hours of actual labour.
  1. Keyword Research
  2. Market Research
  3. Domain Selection/Purchase
  4. Hosting Setup
  5. Blog/Site Installation & Optimization
  6. Content Creation
  7. Initiate Traffic Generation

I'm getting much faster at the first 5 steps, but it's no where near 2 hours yet - and once I get to last two steps - I'm needing an extra day for sure.

Can you really do all these steps in just a few hours? If so, please share your best tip.

    Hi,

I can't say that I can do all that in 2 hours, unless I do it badly which I don't want to do. Keyword research takes me the longest because I want to get it right, especially when building an SEO site, there is nothing worse than targeting the wrong keywords.

The building and content takes me a lot less and can be done in 4 hrs if it a small sniper style blog

SO hard to give a number as there are so many different answers. But if I were to talk about the 'sniper' type sites following the various adsense methods like xfactor then I would guess it would take me an hour or so to get the content sorted (small, niche site remember), an hour of backlinks (article, spin it, submit using article submission software) and then wait a week or two for it to be properly indexed and appear in the SERPs for the keyword I was targetting.

Sometimes it will need no more backlinking work than that, sometimes I will need to do some more to get it further up the rankings and get more traffic

obviously I am only talking about the final two steps there - for the initial ones that you were talking about I would guess 2 hours or so. Hard to tell as I do my keyword research in batches - i.e. I would spend a whole day doing it and then not need to do any for another 3 weeks or so

I would say 2 days to get traffic. I think it used to work easier than it does now. But with wordpress mu.. that kinda changes the game a bit. Press a button and you have a new blog with hundreds of templates and plugins already installed...

Well for me the keyword research and the content take the longest though I have started outsourcing most of my content creation which is saving me a huge amount of time as that was 50% of the time I spent on each site.

I have found that taking some extra time finding good keywords in the niche you are targeting pays off in the long run. While I can do it faster than I do I have found that the sites I end up spending the extra time on end up doing better.

If you do a good job as selecting keywords it will make it easier to find the domain name you want as well so that part usually does not take very long.

Setting the domain up on the server takes just a couple of mins and what you need to do for your site is have a base install that you work from. Build a setup that you can use for every site that you create. All you have to do then is do a search and replace on the domain names and other specific info and then upload and install. Once you have it down it should not take very long at all.

Some of the back linking I do myself some I outsource. I just add the new site to the process and the traffic will start to appear if you choose wisely on the keywords.

Market, Keyword research, domain name - 1-2 hours
Changing site and uploading, installing 1 hour (really the easiest part of the process)
Setting content up on site (does not include creation) 30 mins
Site promotion- always an ongoing process.

So I guess for me if I outsource the content creation I can easily do a complete site in 3-4 hours. Now having said that I do sometimes pick a niche to work on that ends up not working for me because I can not find keywords that I like. This causes me to waste half an hour to an hour or so before I give up. I tend to bulldog ideas sometimes so someone who lets go easier probably calls it dead quicker than I do. I would say maybe 20% of the time this happens so that ads about another 20mins to my avg.

In 2 hours I could do the some very fast research in Market Samurai, buy a domain name, add it to HostGator, have a blog up and running with WordPressDirect, have 1 article written and posted to an article directory, have added an article to the blog, along with a sales offer to clickbank.

I believe that would fulfill your requirements.

Now, lets get back to reality. The theme I would be using would probably stink. The content would not be my best work, my keyword research would be so-so at best...

Unless you are in a race, you should slow down, do it right, and build a business.

Bad content, bad design, and bad research is only going to equal bad returns on your investment in time and money.

I'm a spare-time IMer so I may be slower than those who do this all the time. I took me 6 hours to do what it says there in 2, although I did create a report to get people to subscribe as well (which took about 2 of the 6 hours).

Domain..Hosting..Blog... all that should take about 5-10 minutes.

The rest is the time consuming stuff, especially creating good content to make people stay at your site.

    Can you say... 'outsource?

There is a very pretty tattooed lady in this forum that flips very good sites set up with 5+ posts and a high quality auto blogger as part of the package for a mere $37 that can return that $37 in under a day,

I've seen these 2 hr wonders and they look like 2 hr wonders. I often spend a whole day and occasionally more on a niche blog. When I'm done, it looks great, has all the possible monetization in place, has great plugins, and has a lot of good content plus submission to bookmarks, etc.

Agreed. It depends on the point of the blog. For me I spend 2 hours putting one together when it is a niche blog designed specifically to get people to click off via adverts, not to hang around. For blogs that I am more happy to put my name to in the 'look at my quality blog' sense of the word then I am looking at spending a day or so tweaking the theme and writing the first couple of posts, and taking my time for each post after that to ensure the best possible information and quality
