I've been working on setting up my internet marketing business with a very limited budget but with great enthusiasm and a strong sense that I will make it if I keep at it. My frustration is I have now signed up for so many things that I'm totally boggled!!! My little pea brain is in overload and I honestly don't know what I really have to have and who is simply trying to make a quick buck from me. I tend to buy support and not get great customer service after so when I try to set up my biz and run into techi problems I'm buggered!
Any way, I figure if I come here you guys MUST know more than me and be willing to share your experiences...
Now sock it to me.... give me all the info no-one told you and you had to learn on your own .... pleassseeeee...

One thing I've had to learn on my own is that you can buy all the programs in the world, but you're going to have to start by picking one thing and working on it to see results. That one thing could end up being a mixture of various programs, but just STOP signing up to new things and start acting on them.

Everyone feels overwhelmed, and it doesn't help that we hear so much conflicting advice about what's the 'best' way to go about it.

The truth is that the best way is the way that works for you. Unfortunately you're going to have to devote some real time and action taking to find out what this is.

The best thing you can do for yourself is stop signing up to things, even *unsubscribe* from email newsletters, don't buy anything else and just go through what you do already know one step at a time.

Hi and Welcome to the Forum!

It will be to your benefit to have those emails you are getting go to another folder of some kind.

Pick one method at a time to start with, and hopefully you have selected a specific niche - not a bunch of them, and just a couple of products within that niche to focus on.

You really want to hone in to make purchases of things that can help your business specifically.

Personally, I spend about 95 percent on actual tools that I'm looking for, and only 5 percent will be to learn a new trick or method.

In all honesty, all those people emailing you are trying to make a buck somewhere. And that is ok - some of them might have done the research and may have some great stuff to tell you about. It takes time to figure out who is worth following.

I just dumped a ton of people last week after about 2 years of collecting them. I could tell that some of them were following what the other guy was doing (I had got on their list from someone higher up) and I could also tell some of them were not even reviewing products properly as some of them I had already researched and found to have scam or crap attached to the name.

Anyway, file them separate and don't pay too much attention to them. Work on your business, and don't go looking for a solution to a problem until you have the problem. Stay focused to solve that one problem and then get back on track quickly.

How many pros can you follow and how many one can you listen to ??
if you are on your first steps into IM then listen to them all, then take action in any direction you need (whatever is the Niche) then the Knowledge will start to show up

    Keep it simple!

1.Find a market who have money to spend and a history of buying online. Research that market and find out what they want to buy.

2.Create or acquire a product the market place wants to buy.

    3.Build a website

4.Set up a way to take payment

5.Find cost effective ways to put your site and product in front of your chosen market.

If you have carried out step one correctly - you should know how to reach your chosen market. You should also know the type of sales proposition they will respond too and what price they're willing to pay!

    All the best

  • Hi

My first suggestion - Don't buy so much!!

Then take one thing/product at a time and get as much information as you can from it and put it into action before moving on to the next product.

People have come to me and said the same thing and after talking to them. I've found that they:-
    • don't focus properly on their goals or what it is they want to achieve
    • they expect a magic button that will do everything for them without having to put much work into building their business.
    • they think they'll be making huge amounts of money in a couple of weeks by joing affilaite programs without taking into account how much they'll need to spend on advertising if they want to do PPC
The best suggestion I can give you is to take your time and don't be in a rush. Rather than trying to make money straight away BUILD YOUR LIST first. This is the basic building block and foundation of a good, successful business.

Try and create your own product - it doesn't have to be anything fancy - maybe an ebook or report about your experiences and results so far that other newbies might identify with.

Unsubscribe from people's lists that just constantly send you sales pitches rather than good information and delete those in your already in your email box.

Start a blog about your everyday experiences building your business i.e what you did, any results you got - this also lets YOU see if you are wasting your time (such as spending too much of it on twitter, facebook etc) or actually being productive and moving forward.

Also if the world is watching you and you give up you'll probably be classed as a wuss! More of an incentive to carry on if nothing else.

    Hope this helps

    Best wishes
    Doug

    Great advice guys.

From my own experience I know what is like to keep buying and trying and buying and trying. There comes a time when you have to stop and i mean stop! Get clear about what you are trying to achieve. Look at all the products you have purchased and then stick with the one that bes meets your needs. You could spend thousands of dollars and never get anywhere.

You just have to decide to take action. Stop buying and start implementing.

What type of business model do you want to focus on.

There are lots of ways to make money online. Decide on one to begin with or you will go mad. Later you can switch things up and add others. But pick one

Do you want to provide your own product or service?

Do you want to promote someone elses product or service?
