My two part response to the original post...

1) I have no interest at all in becoming famous, but even I would click on the headline I quoted above. Best in the thread so far, IMO.

2) The "best headline we could give you" would require that we knew a little more about the service you're offering, and who you are. "EX HOLLYWOOD TALENT SCOUT REVEALS...", etc. The thing that makes you better or unique is the thing you want to pitch in the HL, but we don't know what that is...

On the other hand, the suggestion using the video or picture of other artists would be illegal if you don't have permission from the artists involved. Sorry Martin, it was a great idea otherwise, I just don't want to see anyone get in trouble.

I understand, Martin, but that can still be risky. Anytime you use someone else's image or likeness without their permission, especially in a commercial venture or as an implied endorsement, don't be surprised if their lawyer comes a calling. Again, I loved your idea, and I'm not a lawyer, but I have done quite a bit of research into this area because of a contest I used to run, and in my opinion it's risky at best.

Interesting Contest. As a professional entertainer for 21 years now, I am intrigued by what marketers think an aspiring entertainer wants to be. As a comedian, and just a beginning web entrepeneur, I am not sure I understand what makes a good headline. I asked myself this question. Did I want to be famous when I worked my butt off to be a comedian? Tha answer is I never verbalized or conceptualized fame...only what fame "is" to me. Limelight, center stage, recognized, front of the line, making people laugh, being "loved."

Maybe some people dream of being mugged by paparazzi...not sure.

Why do people go into American (Canadian) Idol? Some think they can sing. Some can sing pretty good and want a shot. They do want a shot at fame. But the real competitors (with talent) know that Idol can pave the way for their shot at fame...which means their shot to share their talent with the most people.
