Does ezinearticles "VOTES" have any influence at all on the traffic to your articles??

Hi guys, I was wondering, does ezinearticles "VOTES" have any influence at all on the traffic to your articles? The only reason why I'm asking is cuz I've seen a dude in the same niche as mine with a generally crappy article with literally thousands of hits on it and it's only been less than 3 weeks old and the guy has like 12,000 hits already!

How the heck do they do this???

I mean, my articles are much better quality and I believe the keywords are much better placed also.

However, I have noticed also that the guy has like 15 votes for the article also...So I'm wondering, does the votes have any influence at all on how many hits the article gets?

And if so, is there any way that he could've manipulated the count of hits to his article???

Very likely faking hits to their articles with

*) paid traffic
or
*) "certain" software

Its a shame ezine doesnt have good measures in place to boot those people off.

I have thought about it as well, so I just tried voting my own article 4(5?) stars a few times and it has now been published several times more than the other similar articles. Maybe some webmasters in a hurry will look at the rating and pick it up.

Yes. it is true that a few webmasters will have a glance at the rating and then choose, so it does affect buddy.

I see a bunch of folks in Twitter who tweet out every article they publish on EZ multiple times a day. So each article is tweeted about 100 times in a week until they start promoting their next one, and their next one.

Then there is stumbleupon, your own email list, etc

Not difficult to inflate your page views, really
