How many times have you started over...?

There's no doubt IM is difficult. Some say it's tougher than starting a retail business. And the number of successful people online is extremely low. In any case, we still move forward.

I can't tell you how many times I've started over with a new method I read about from some ebook or WSO. All this takes time and for me it's now been 9 months since I first started IMing.

But I noticed something about a month ago. Someone asked me "what is internet marketing and how can you become successful"?

I told them everything that they should do to get started and how to stay consistent and yada yada. Then I realized I have ALL the answers right in front of me and had an entire business plan ready to be executed.

So what I did was write down everything and like magic I had my blueprint. So I started this blueprint about a month ago and it's starting to work.

The point of this thread is to let others know that are getting frustrated and discouraged is to find a plan and STICK TO IT. Theres soooo many different methods. None really work perfectly and they all have there own quircks to them.

But find one you enjoy doing and STICK TO IT. I can't say that enough. Even though is seems like it won't work just stick to it and keep going. Eventually your hard work will start paying off. But quit starting over and over and over again. I think this is where most IMers fail.

We all got the answers from doing enough research. Now just write it down and go for it full throttle. Don't stop because it will eventually work for ya.

Hope this helps

Another thing I have noticed with people that jump from project to project is that they get bored with the same topic and end up jumping to another one. And a sure way to get bored with something is expecting it to be perfect. Nothing will ever be 100% perfect so just focus on getting it done.

Just imagine starting a new job every few weeks, would you ever get anywhere? Of course not, and internet marketing is no different. The trick is to find something you won't get bored at (this may take awhile) and go with it. ALL methods won't work right at first because the simple fact is: things take time. Be patient and humble is key

I agree as well. I have the same problem - I am always starting a project but I never get to the finish line with any of it. It's always a work in progress until I decide to quit and look for another "opportunity".

I have all the information - but I dont know where to start?? :-(

First thing to do is WRITE EVERYTHING down. I know it's tough doing it but it's gotta be done.

So write everything that you know down and you will know what you need to do first. trust me it works and you will see that once you do this. But you also need to be open minded about it.

Well, of course my problem is switching methods all the time.

The reason behind this is because I don't think it will work.

Now, I have taken action using Adwords, and lost quite a bit of money...not just a few hundred dollars. PPC really interests me, but I can't seem to be successful with it.

Mainly I'll read reports or WSOs, and someone shows a screenshot of a really shi**y landing page, which makes me think to myself how in the hell they get a good quality score, let along Clickthroughs to their affiliate link.

I always ask myself if I would click through the landing pages that I see in these reports.....and usually the answer is no. That's why I switched to CPA, because their offer landing pages are much better than Clickbank sales pages. However, I still have to deal with my own landing pages.

Right now, I'm trying to stick to using SEnuke. It's not hard at all to do......but I'm always afraid that I'm wasting my time if I can't get my sites to rank.

It's like I need proof that a certain method works. Like literally a step-by-step method, with proof of ranking for keywords over time. Not "I made $XXXX by using this method". Not enough proof for me to keep applying the method. It's enough proof to buy it, but not to keep me interested, because I can't ever seem to understand how some methods can make such an income, or any income at all.

I'll stop now, because I can keep ranting forever.

I see you are member of War Room, DID that help at all? Did you get something new out of it? Is it worth it?

Also, your post sounds a lot like where I am now. Stuck in "nothing" zone. Have you had any success since? I know it's been couple months. If you did, what helped?

Also, if not a secret, what are you doing now?

    Hi Dualdmtz,

It seems that answering that persons question(s) out loud, was the perfect result for you.

That was the 'sound board' you needed to motivate you to write everything down, so that you could remember it.
You were so self-motivated, you then took action!

    Well done.
I wish you all the best with your endeavours.

I'm constantly talking to people who are either jumping from system to system, or are trying to make their first attempt "perfect" or keep redoing work they have already done.

It's a pain in the ass when trying to help them out because despite them having all the skills and knowledge they need, there's a fear that prevents them from moving forward.

And there's nothing, I or anyone else can do to help them through that, it's got to come from within. Aside from them wasting my time by repeating things over and over, it's a shame for them as individuals because there's so much potential that never gets used.

If there was a magic button to make them pull the trigger I'd buy it for them.

Well, i am new to internet marketing and happy to learn all. I have started a few sites but yet to bring me enough money to live off of. I had made as much as the annual cost of perhaps 3 websites including hosting and domain renewal.
Now I just uploaded my newest site this evening and got indexed by google in just over an hour.
    My problem is getting traffic.
I have used adwords and free submissions and some forums, with my other site, but I guess I am not comprehending the business like attitude towards IM.
SO I would like to learn how to generate traffic. I don't have a list and wouldn't even know where to start building it.
I have like 8 sites but only adwertised and promoted one. sufferingfrommigraine.com started sometimes in August or so and reached PR2 this january. Brought the others up to page one without even promoting them. One of my site medicbulletin.com is steadily in the first spot on google for its name as two separate words surpassing the british medical bulletin site and that is without as much as a forum post.

Now my problem is getting traffic. SEO seems alright but I don't know how to get cheap traffic? Adwords is expensive. one.com hosts all my sites because they have the best deal. No hosting fee and no domain cost for the first year but they charge something like 10 dollars setup fee and on top they give 50 dollars adwords coupon. So thats what I used to promote my migraine site.

every time I've gotten a new domain and hosting They gave me 50 worth of coupons and I used them up with my migraine site.

Any advice? I am getting millions of emails per day of how to make 250 000 in an hour but all I want is just about 100 per day.
I am really sick of opt ins and getting all the junk email disguised as oportunities . It;s just too much info and junk to sift thru. I don't mind junk if it has som evalue, but opt in after opt in, and upsell after upsell, makes the whole process worthless. Reading thru all the crap to get to the point.
Any Ideas of generating cheap traffic??
    Thanx a lot,

Still though sometimes one has to admit defeat in an idea they are pursuing, some things just do not work out for various reasons, and sometimes it is clever to sto working on something that is unsuccessful and start something new and fresh that has the potential to be a success

I've become good at sticking to individual projects. I've been on the same type of thing for almost a year now and it's only now that things are finally making sense, and it's quite exciting.

Internet marketing is debatably hard in practise because it takes effort. But when looking at what's required, it's actually very simple. And people have different ideas of success, whether they're looking to make $2000 per month or $20'000 per month.

If something isn't working for a long time though and it doesn't feel right, it's only worth starting over if you recognise the mistakes that have been made, otherwise it will just keep happening.

Anyone, in theory, can make money online quickly. It amazes me that only some succeed.

I think one of the problems, if not the main one is that people new to online marketing buy into the hype of how easy it all is with cash-sucking dirty little ninja assassin secrets and all the rest of the slop.

Then when they actually get started and find out it's real work they jump to some other thing they think will be easy because of all the sizzle in the sales copy. Face it, making money is work.

Here's a simple concept. Pick a proven strategy, something you could enjoy doing. Then find someone who's been successful at it (not someone with a bunch of BS screenshots but someone who is a known success). Then just model what that person is doing and stay with it.

I think the whole reason why there is such a low success rate in the first place is because nobody is willing to stick with it. Everyone is looking to get rich quick but as you said, anyone successful had to stick with it!

That bolded line is the lesson that took me 18+ months to learn. It's amazing how much easier I find working on something I love (duh), but also how much easier it is to pick myself up after a deflating day and keep powering on.

It's always easier to give up than to keep trying, but when it's something you're doing just to make money and you're not really enjoying it, it's 10 times easier to give up!

I agree it's a matter of sticking with it through the failures (learning experiences)....

Some people say, "It's too hard", yeah, but is it harder than going to work for some jerk who bosses you around for YEARS on end while you earn money for someone else??

Personally that's what kept me going through the failures- thinking of the alternative.

For me it's not about getting bored with a certain subject in IM, but rather believing i'm not doing it right and that i'm just wasting my time and not getting anywhere. Recently i signed up to a one on one coaching program for this reason.

Getting confirmation on what your working on by an experienced IM expert helps ease the doubt in the back of your mind that your not getting anywhere.
